Daniel Hardin, OD

My mother has dementia. She saw Dr Daniel Hardin yesterday and he was very patient and kind with her. He adjusted his questions to fit her ability to answer and treated her with respect. Not all doctors have the experience and empathy to adjust their normal approach to an eye exam.

I've been a patient since 2018, and from the beginning Dr. Dan has been thorough, kind, attentive, and efficient. Most recently, my advancing years put me squarely in the market for bifocals or progressives, and he took extra time to listen to my daily wear usage/needs. He processed my myriad requirements into a suite of prescriptions for separate single-vision and progressive uses, which are all working fantastically for me.

Dan Hardin is amazing and always makes you feel comfortable. My partner has never had a great experience with his eyes, I finally had him go to see Dr. Hardin and will now set appointments bc it has been a great experience. Even my parents who moved 9 hours away still come home to see him for eye test. So if you want someone who cares and you can trust check out Dr. Hardin and his team!

My family has been going to Dr. Hardin for the past 20+ years - we practically watched him grow up. He is always professional while being personable. His staff is great too. I always get my frames/lenses at his office, the prices seem competitive.

This is a very nice place to have your eyes completely cared for. Dr. Hardin is friendly and professional, and his staff is excellent. Everyone works hard to make sure your eyes are measured correctly and your glasses fitted well. I purchased my glasses here in the adjacent optical shop; nice selection and great service to help me find what looks good. I highly recommend Dr. Hardin and his team if you want to see well, they really care and will go to great effort to fit you properly. I know I'm in good hands here, you will be, too.

edit: changing my rating from 1 to 5 because My Eye Dr. screwup should not reflect on Dr. Hardins practice. brought glasses in for a fit adjustment, the fit seemed all good. thanked her and went on my way. within minutes of getting home i noticed a prominent mark on the left lens, huh that's weird.. i try cleaning it then realize its a scratch. i go in the next morning and the same lady that adjusted the frames is there, and she tells me no sir, you brought them in already with the scratch. I tell her no, a scratch this big i would've noticed. i clean my glasses multiple times daily. i wear them 16 hours a day. i would've noticed the scratch. she steps away to call her manager then returns saying her manager corroborates her story that I brought them in scratched. at this point i'm past upset, im in disbelief because i know for a fact i didn't bring them in scratched. i was infuriated. i'll pay to replace the lens, because what other choice do I have, but if this is how you choose to do business with a 10+ year patient/customer of yours i'll find someone else. i will GENUINELY miss Dr. Hardin

Dr. Dan Hardin is an incredible eye doctor! Not only is he very thorough, but also very nice and personable to talk to! I really appreciated the patient care from him and his front desk. Super nice place and people! Highly recommend.

I hardly ever give 5 stars, but this practice is perfect. Dr. Tara Hardin was my DO and she is so thorough and compassionate. They actually treated an injury on my first visit, but I liked them so much I came back for an annual exam. The whole staff is terrific from the desk to the Opto Assistant to the Opto retail store. They worked very well with my insurance so my out of pocket was very affordable. Oh and they have this digital retinal mapping called Optomap. It was seriously inexpensive and they didn't have to dilate my eyes, but got a comprehensive picture of my retina to catch any problems soon plus you can compare for changes in the eye. This is the place for eye care in Richardson!
