VisionRx Optical

This is specific to communication. We went back on December 4 to get our eyes checked. My husband had just gotten home from his hitch where he's gone for 28 days and was on home time for 14. That same day, his contacts should've been ordered. He left after the 14 days and no contacts. He was gone for another 28 and came home. We went to check on the contacts at the VisionRX Optical. The lady at the desk went to check next door and came back saying they'd be delivered by that Thursday. My husband left after his 14 days and still no contacts. We both figured they hadn't ordered them the first time so they just placed the order on January 23. I went today to check on the order and was told they were on back order but they could over night them to us. Now, it sounds like we'll get them Thursday. All this and not once did we get any updates, calls, emails, texts...nothing. As a long time patient of Dr. Blankenship I expected better communication. That's one of my pet peeves. It doesn't take much to make a call or send an email to let us know what's happening with the contacts we purchased. My husband has been wearing the same pair of contacts that the doctor gave him since December and are now bothering him. He could've ordered from somewhere else had we known it was going to take this long. It's just unacceptable.

I have tried calling several times and no one is ever there to answer the phone. Is this place still in business? I have seen several good reviews but can never get anyone to get information about an appointment that I scheduled online.

Absolutely amazing service!! Super clean place, patience, friendly, yes was a little busy and had to wait but the doctor Blankenship stepped in as well and helped us out as well! TEAM doesn't have a I in it! I will definitely be back for the rest of the family.

I would give this place 0 starts if I could. First off, I originally bought my son a pair of glasses in February 2023. They broke after only 2 months when they fell off his face at the school dance. The warranty replaced them in April but unfortunately the replacement pair broke 2 months later in the same exact spot during basketball practice. His last pair of Nike frames that were purchased at a different eye care facility lasted him over a year and never broke once even during multiple basketball/football games and practices. It was going to cost $245 for another pair of cheaply made nike frames that are made in china so I decided to pay $140 for a contact exam instead because I don't want to pay for another pair of frames if they are just going to keep breaking in the same spot. We had the contact exam on June 26th and Dr. Blankenship stated it would only take about a week for his "complimentary" pair of contacts to come. He instructed us not to go buy contacts at Walmart or any place else so he can try the complimentary pair first to make sure he adjusts to them. After waiting 2 weeks, I called Vision RX for an update on when we can expect them and was told that the computer still says "in processing". It's now been over 1 month since the contact exam and still have not received the contacts nor an update on why it's taking so long or when we can expect them to arrive. This is absolutely ridiculous to be waiting a month when I was told they should only take 1 week to arrive. All the other Eye care places I have been to in the past kept contacts in stock at the facility for the complimentary pairs to be given the day of the exam so I don't see why this place doesn't do the same. My son starts school and football in a couple weeks and I was hoping he would have a chance to try out the contacts before then so that way he's not having to wear a broken pair of frames to school/football that I had to super glue back together. I will never use this place nor Caplan eye center ever again. The dr and staff are friendly people but this quality of service/product is unacceptable.

Please go somewhere else to get your glasses, it's not worth the money that you pay for a pair of glasses that fog constantly and apparently they used best quality lens. The optician only treats you nice at the first time just to get peoples money but if a problem appears she likes to play stupid and won't fix the root problem she talks to the people like we are dumb and we are purchasing first pair of glasses. Never in my life will come back to purchase eye glasses at this place and I'm definitely not recommending this place to none of my family or friends.
