First time patient for my annual eye exam and it went great. From first calling to schedule an appointment to friendly reminders text messages to day of appointment greeted by front desk. Staff were friendly checking in & starting the routine eye exam before seeing the doctor was great. Dr. Kikuchi was friendly, knowledgeable and answered any questions I had even about my insurance. My prescription was waiting for me when I was done & went home ordered glasses online. They do have frames though to try on & order there! Overall, it was great!
This place was horrible from day one! The staff is just rude and lack manners. I went last year and purchased my glasses. It took several MONTHS to come in and every time I asked for an update, the staff acted very bothered, I was told the glasses had been damaged in shipping so it needed to be reordered and then the wrong the thing was shipped so need to be reordered again. When I finally received my glasses they had blue(anti-glare) lens that were very thick. I know that my prescription is very bad so my lens would be thick, which is why I always order the thinner option. I was told I denied the thinner lens and instead asked for the anti-glare. I asked how we go about correcting the issue because I in fact do not want the blue lens, I want the thinner lens. The staff told me, "that's what you ordered, the thinner lens are expensive". Not once did I ever complain or express an issue with a price so why she said that to me was interesting enough. My reply simply being that's fine I will pay whatever I need to pay, I would just like the other lens, I do not want these. She then told me "I'm the store manager!" Again why was this relevant? So I reply "ok store manager, how can we fix this situation because I do not want these" . Her response being "Of you want to complain you can come back when the owner is in, but I have the final say right now". I never asked for a manager, never asked to speak to someone else, all I wanted was a remedy to the problem. I NEVER got one. Now it's been a year and the frames have broken, I call to see if I can get my prescription and I was told no because the prescription was expired. I asked how was it expired if I just got it last year and the prescriptions are good for 2 years. Her response was simply "not here!" I'm not sure where this staff learned such horrible service but definitely would never recommend this place to anyone!
Stating the notes input by the employee does not change the reality of the situation, why would the rude, disrespectful employee put in the notes that she was In fact rude and disrespectful? Of course she would state that she was polite and sweet and just attacked for no reason whatsoever and all she did was try to be professional and helpful. I never raised my voice to anyone, I never asked to speak to someone else. I just stated this is not what I asked for because it was not what I asked for, and asked what are the next steps to get the correct lens. What could have been a simple. "Oh I'm sorry I'm not sure how there was a mix up (a neither accepting or placing blame statement) but we can certainly get the other lens ordered" turned into a horrible experience that I hope no one else has to deal with.
Unprofessional front staff that lack communication skills. The woman working there with thick black framed glasses wanted to take my phone to the back office and laughed at me when I refused to give my phone to her. The staff also failed to tell me they canceled my eye exam until I arrived for the exam.
Time to find another place for my exams.
I really dislike writing poor reviews; however, I will no longer utilize this place for our optical care. My son's contact fell out of his eye, and he had no replacements. I called to see if they were able to provide my son with a replacement (I was willing to pay for the record); however, the doctor stated that if we were not ordering contacts through him, he would not help us. Now my son has to walk around with ONE contact because instead of having some humanity in an emergency and allowing us to purchase a pair through him, we must order a month's supply. What kind of business is that? They have definitely lost our business, and I will ensure I do not refer them moving forward.
**UPDATE to DR. K's response: Sir, I appreciate your response. However, if your staff had translated professionally even a tidbit of what you stated, that would have been understandable. I was told exactly what I said above. It's nice to see you could care to leave an extended, drawn-out response on a review where other potential clients can view, instead of caring enough about the current client you have. None of this matters because, as stated, we went elsewhere where communication and service were impeccable and they lawfully took care of my son. Your response was more of a chastisement and proving a point, like we were in a court of law. That screams narcissistic behavior. I was not looking for you to commit a crime. Maybe train your staff to communicate effectively to circumvent other issues that may arise--best of luck.
Had my yearly appointment with Dr Ken today. I just really love this office! Dr Ken is amazing and ever so kind. I even got my parents to switch to this office. We are moving a town over this summer and will make the drive to continue to come here. Couldn't be happier and ask for better experiences.
Dr. Kikuchi and the entire staff are wonderful--friendly, professional, and efficient. Dr. Kikuchi is thorough. He and his staff make everything easy from start to finish. I always feel well cared for and highly recommend them!
Been going a few years now . We love Dr K and staff. Just took my mother for the first time. They were wonderful with her .. Rachel was the first one to wait on us when we first came to this business. Such a very sweet kind young lady ...
Great service. Hadn't been to the eye doctor in years and they answered my questions accordingly. The biggest factor in my decision going here is they were upfront in pricing and
helped me understand my insurance benefits.
