Dr. Lao is the best Neuro Ophthalmologist I have seen in my 45 year experience (he is the third neuro seen in this time frame). His thorough explanation as to his assessment of my eyes verbalized as he examined them was an incredible asset to my experience. My husband noted this and was very impressed. His bedside manner is extremely professional, compassionate and he listened to our questions and answered each one in understandable terminology! I believe the most impressive of all from this visit is the fact that I was able to print Dr. Lao's Progress Notes the very next morning after my visit. This will be so helpful with my follow-up visit to my PCP to obtain the additional medical services Dr. Lao requested. Five stars is not enough for Dr. Lao!!

Felt very rushed, like he had other patients that were more important so my issue wasn't as important. I was sent for a reason and I will be going back to my primary doctor to get another referral for a second opinion with another doctor that will be I guess more caring since he said I have nothing wrong and he "probably" has the same thing.

Such a disappointing appointment. Took over an hour to be seen. Was rushed! Was dismissed and basically no help or answers. Doctor had horrible bedside manner. Tried to blame real issues on "anxiety" being a woman seeking medical care is already hard enough. I hope this saves someone else the time and trauma! Seek another doctor. I'm so glad I did bc he missed a huge diagnosis that could have been helped sooner

Dr. Lao and his staff are among the most professional, thorough, and caring medical professionals I have encountered in my 76 years on this planet. They are prompt, courteous, and clearly care about the well-being of their patients. I had seen another optometrist and two optometrists, and none of them were able to identify why my near vision had deteriorated so. One told me I had cataracts and needed surgery, while another said the fogging of my lenses was insignificant but that I had macular degeneration. Dr. Lao identified that I had dry eyes and convergence failure, solving the problem! If I could give them 10 stars, I would!
