I have been getting eye exams and wearing glasses/contact lenses since I was a child. This was by far the smoothest, most trouble-free exam that I have gotten in that time (20+ years). Doctor Matthew zoned right in on my prescription and he and his staff are all very sweet, helpful people. He was also able to fix a bad-fitting contact prescription that I had from a previous exam. Highly recommend, I will definitely be back.

At the time, I felt Dr Matthew didn't take long enough to carefully test my eyes. After I got my new glasses, it turns out my prescription was WAY off. Went back and he admitted to not noticing my astigmatism (in both eyes). Never even apologized. Got another prescription from a better doctor that turned out no where close to his second and corrected prescription.

They don't tell you when you book an appointment online that a retinal exam is required until you go in. Extra charge that isn't required at other places. 2 stars because at least they told me when I walked in.

I visited Master Eye Associates at Austin Mopac and had a disappointing experience. On my first visit, the doctor gave me an overpowered prescription. I returned for a follow-up, and the second prescription was also overpowered. I have been wearing eye glasses for 20+ years and have never been misdiagnosed like this. At that point, I lost trust and decided to see a different eye doctor. The new doctor was excellent and took the time to thoroughly examine my eyes. He diagnosed me with keratoconus--a condition that was completely missed by the original doctor, even after two visits. I don't trust the judgment of the doctor at Master Eye Associates. The equipment also felt outdated and poorly maintained. If you care about your vision, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
