Texas Retina Associates -- Dallas Main

I was referred to Texas retina from my ophthalmologist at Austin retina as they have a little more experience with my condition. It was a long drive, but it was worth it, and everybody here was very professional and knew what they were doing. The wait was a little bit long after they had taken all the photos of my eye, but that's pretty typical. The retinal specialist that I was referred to, Ashkan Abbey, was excellent. You listened carefully to my situation and was perfectly willing to do everything you could to work around my limitations and condition. I highly recommend both Texas retina and Dr. Abbey. The location is pretty convenient, although I got a bit lost, but that's just because I'm not so familiar with downtown Dallas. The clinic is just off the highway and the parking is on the east side of the building, in a covered parking garage, which opens directly into the lobby. There's another retinal clinic in the same building, which is a little confusing but once you park, just walk to the north end of the parking lot and it's right in front of you. Update. I wish I could give Dr. Abbey and this retina clinic 10 stars. Unfortunately the surgery that I need is brand new and their surgical site has not been approved to do it yet so I was forced to look elsewhere at other retinal clinics. This allowed me to see the operations at different clinics around the country. Oh my god. Most of them are a complete nightmare, and the ones that are good are still not as good as Texas retina. I'm still hoping maybe they can get approval for this surgery soon. If not, I will probably have to get it someplace else but if I need anything in the future, this is going to be my first choice for sure.

I love Dr Tim Fuller. I am grateful for all of the care and attention and patience He has had through this melanoma journey. I cannot imagine having such excellent care by anyone else. He has consistently answered my questions, worked with other doctors and coordinated my healthcare. I truly believe that he always has my best interest at heart and has done everything possible to help me through this difficult time. On this occasion, the weather deteriorated and my regular injection was mandatory before another upcoming eye surgery. I messaged the practice via Facebook and received a response during the icy conditions in a very reasonable period of time. The person who responded was so kind and understanding of the urgency to maintain the appointment and coordinated everything with Dr. Fuller. I am grateful that he was so willing to come to the office under the weather conditions this week. Another great example of his unending care and concern. He is an excellent partnered.

Dr. Deborah Chong is truly exceptional. She performed my vitrectomy, and from start to finish I felt I was in the hands of someone not only incredibly skilled, but deeply compassionate. She is brilliant, thorough, and takes the time to explain everything clearly, which immediately put me at ease. Her professionalism and expertise are evident, yet she also has a warmth and kindness that made a stressful experience so much easier. I am incredibly grateful for her care and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone needing a retinal specialist.

I had an issue when paying. The nurse up front was incredibly, and I mean incredibly patient with me. That set the tone for the whole visit. I'm hard of hearing and the patience of this staff is wonderful. I was treated with respect and kindness by every one. No one was in a hurry. The Doctor did his exam, then answered every question . He even asked if I had MORE questions. Didn't try to sell me, didn't try to fast-talk me. He even asked if I had MORE questions. No one was in a hurry. Highly recommend.

The experience at this facility was absolutely a waste of time. We waited for over four hours to see the doctor for less than 5 minutes. Insane! I have never been so damn mad at a medical facility. This appointment should not have taken over over 1-1.5 hours long. I don't know how ANYONE could have a single good thing to say about this place.

I have been a patient at Texas Retina over 30 years, always finding them endeavoring to provide the best care possible, always exhibiting care and concern regarding my vision issues. I heartily recommend the practice for their excellent staff.

Shame on you Texas Retina Associates for disrespecting your patients valuable time by making them wait for hours for an appointment that should take no longer than 1 to 1.5 hours max. It is a cattle call and the person whose job is to it is to (over)schedule appointments should be fired. You should make all of your employees (doctors included) to experience first hand what it's like to sit for hours in that waiting room, and I believe things would change for the better very quickly.

Dr.Rajiv Anand is my Retina specialist. He is Patient and experienced. He answered all my questions. I recommend his expertise to anyone who needs Retina appointments. God bless him with health and happiness. The facility is nice and clean. It took about one hour for end to end consultation.
