I went into this opticians recently and I was unfortunately disappointed with the service I received of one of the receptionists with short grey hair and black glasses. I felt forced into having a PS70 ish eye exam without being able to discuss any other options. I hope my next experience is more positive as all the other staff seem lovely .

I recently visited Noakes, Habermehl and Kerr opticians in Crownhill, were I had their ultimate eye examination and was given a new prescription. I took my prescription to another optician, who made new distance and reading glasses in accordance with the prescription. On collection of the glasses my vision was blurred in the right eye on both pairs of glasses. I returned to NHK to ask them if they could check the prescription against the previous one to try to identify the issue. On explaining this to the receptionist, she immediately become confrontation and aggressive, stating you accepted the prescription, it nothing to do with us. I was than passed on to another member of staff, who tried be condescending. She went to speak to one of their directors and he highlighted one of the readings, stating it raised a red flag. When you pay around PS50 for an eye examination, you would expect a certain level of professionalism and customer care, which is something I definitely did not receive. Their website states: Our philosophy has been to offer the highest standard of clinical care and exceptional customer service. It's very apparent that certain members of staff need to be trained in customer service as its sadly lacking.

Absolutely amazing referred via 111 and was seen here, and the lovely optometrist I saw was great and very thorough and all the staff were knowledgeable, welcoming and very kind.

Everything was handled very professionally - staff welcoming and no sense of a 'conveyor belt' approach; as has always been my impression, customer care seems to take priority, which is great. I did not feel 'rushed' at any stage and the examination was conducted thoroughly, with good explanation provided. A previous instance in which I had issues with the frame was resolved very professionally. This is an organisation in whom I have confidence.
