I loved my experience at Dawkins and Lodge Opticians today. For years, I've gone to a franchise optician, and I really wanted a change to have a more bespoke experience with people I trust -- Dawkins and Lodge in Hythe is this place. I was immediately made to feel welcome and valued by the welcome team, and Marvin (the optician) was so patient, kind, and really put me at ease. I was worried about the appointment, but I was in safe hands. I'm looking forward to choosing new frames with my updated prescription (something I've been dreading for months, but I'm now excited!).

After having to visit another optician in Hythe 3 times (to try and get my reading glasses right) I gave up and visited Dawkins and Lodge today. I wish I had gone there in the first place. I wasn't rushed and the test was definitely more comprehensive meaning I came away happy and confident my prescription was now correct. I definitely will be using them again.

I have been going to Dawkins and Lodge for many years, initially for contact lenses and now for spectacles.
In my early contact lenses days I used to buy the lenses in the USA and just visit for checkups (D&L made very little from me). Now I have a very complex prescription and it took a while to find frames which could cope.
In all of these years I have had nothing but patience, kindness, understanding and help from Nigel and his staff. On at least one occasion Nigel put himself out to get me sorted - something I would never have got from one of the big chains.

Me and my husband have been going to Dawkins for a few years and spent a lot of money.
Normally the service is good but today I was told why was I there quite abruptly, after I was sent a reminder to make a appointment for my eyes to be tested.
We both were going to get everyday glasses and sun glasses renewed, I felt that the receptionist that I saw the other day and Nigel I saw today that I had upset them in some way?
If so have the decency to say what you are not happy with and talk to me.
Anyway you can take us off your books as we will not use you anymore and I guess you don't care anyway.
