I had the colorimetry test 2 years ago to help with my dyslexia. The test itself was well done and professional. However, when I went to get a new prescription for my colorimetry this year the professionalism has seemingly disappeared since my last appointment. Through the disability act which means I can expense the glasses through my work (University of Portsmouth). I received a quote over the phone for PS520 for an eye test, new colorimetry test, lenses and frame. Which I passed on the finance team who okayed it. I found out that I would only need an eye test rather than both an eye test and colorimetry test. I opted for just the eye test and the colour of my lenses still works for me. This is where things go wrong, somehow the overall cost magically became PS575 for just the eye test and lenses (I opted to keep my current frames and just swap them with my regular glasses.) The manager was very aggressive when I asked about the difference between the quote and the final cost. She also seemed annoyed that I wanted to use my current frames rather than buying new ones (which would have increased the final cost further). Lucky, the finance team okayed the new cost, I dread to think how much they would have actually charged me if they had done the initially quoted work. The opticians said they would contact me when they had received the lenses. They did not. I managed to book in the fitting of the lenses. But they put the wrong lenses in the wrong frames. The lab technician was apologetic. Again, the manager decided to take an aggressive tone and did not offer any sort of apology. To their credit, they did not charge me for new lenses. But the manager's reaction of being aggressive to a customer for their mistake is not ok. Again the opticians stated they would contact me when they had the lenses. They did not, I had to contact them again. When I got to the opticians they took my glasses to fit the new lenses. The manager aggressively asked me which frames had which lenses before accusing me of giving her the wrong frames. I had given her the correct lenses, turns out she had recorded them incorrectly. I think that the manager assumed I was a student and was trying to pressure me into spending more than she had quoted.

I would highly recommend, the colorimetry testing for Dyslexia. Made to feel welcome and lots of help and patience helping choose the right frames, a perfect example of customer service at its best.
