Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care

I had my eyes tested (NHS check up) and new glasses prescribed, principally for reading. The service was friendly, professional and efficient. I ordered two pairs, one pair for reading and one pair for distance. I was given a phone call and received a text when they were ready for collection. Although the text mentioned booking an appointment for collection, the lady on the phone said that this wasn't necessary. Later that day, I popped in to Hythe and went to Scrivens. I was seen almost immediately by Sally. She fetched my glasses, saw that they fitted properly and that I was happy with them. Excellent service thanks.

We recently visited Scrivens in Hythe to arrange a hearing test for my husband, as he almost certainly needed hearing aids. After being misinformed by Specsavers, who told us we would need a GP referral, (something practically impossible given how hard it is to get an appointment at our surgery), we were relieved to learn that Scrivens allows self-referral, and that anyone over 55 can book directly. Booking the appointment was simple, and we even received a friendly confirmation phone call 24 hours beforehand. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and my husband was seen promptly by the audiologist. She was excellent, professional, clear, and thorough in explaining every step of the process. We were genuinely amazed to discover that not only was the full hearing assessment completed, but my husband was also fitted with hearing aids on the very same day. Afterwards, one of her colleagues spent plenty of time explaining how to care for the hearing aids and showed remarkable patience while guiding my husband through how to put them in and handle them confidently. We honestly cannot recommend Scrivens in Hythe highly enough. From start to finish, the entire team was welcoming, friendly, and exceptionally helpful. A truly outstanding service.

Scrivens in Hythe were fantastic and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Our 5 year old son had his first eye exam at school where they picked up a problem and needed to be seen urgently. Scrivens fitted us in that afternoon and the optician Jason was brilliant with our son and made the eye exam so easy to get through. All the staff were so friendly with us and think this is a great place to go with young children.

My husband Graham attended Scrivens in Hythe re hearing. He received excellent service from Abin. Very thorough as well as explaining the procedure. A very professional man who communicated well. Highly recommended.

I visited Scrivens in Hythe today and left with a big smile on my face, as I always do whenever I visit Scrivens Hythe, because the staff there are professional, but also, so friendly, and they go out of their way to make your visit a good one. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I was looked after by Chelsea today, so thank you Chelsea and well done to the whole team, you are all a credit to the company.

Abbie was very professional and helpful. He was very knowledgeable and explained what he was doing and how I could get the best results from the hearing aids.

I saw Maryanne at the Hythe Scrivens branch for an eye test on Monday. She was polite, kept to time, explained what was happening etc. As I am disabled and bent over, Maryanne got a chair, asked me to select a few frames I liked to try on, got me a glass of water....nothing was too much trouble. I can't thank her enough as this was very different to my last experience here, where I was rushed and felt un supported and it has taken me many years to get the confidence to try Scrivens again.
