I had a really great experience at Specsavers Wakefield for my first-ever contact lens appointment, and I honestly couldn't have asked for better care.
From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming and made me feel comfortable, which helped a lot as I was quite nervous since I'd never worn contact lenses before. My optician, Usaid, was absolutely brilliant. He was professional, calm, and very reassuring, and he took the time to explain everything clearly without rushing me. He made sure I understood my prescription, what the lenses would do for my vision, and that I was completely happy before moving on. I never felt silly asking questions, and he explained things in a way that was easy to understand.
The contact lens teaching appointment was done by Robyn, and she was amazing. She was incredibly patient, kind, and encouraging, which made such a difference as a first-time wearer. She talked me through every step of putting the lenses in and taking them out, gave me plenty of time to practise, and made sure I felt confident before I left. She never made me feel rushed or pressured and kept reassuring me when I struggled a little at first, which really helped calm my nerves.
Both Usaid and Robyn were very thorough and made sure my eyes were comfortable, healthy, and that the lenses were suitable for me. They also explained my options clearly and answered all my questions honestly, which made me feel respected and well looked after. The whole appointment felt very supportive and professional, especially for a first contact lens experience.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with the service I received. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure I had a positive first experience with contact lenses. I would definitely recommend Specsavers Wakefield, especially if you're new to contact lenses and feeling nervous, you'll be in very safe hands.
I didn't have a long wait for my appointment, and the audiologist was very helpful in completing my hearing test and fitting my new hearing aids. She also explained about using Bluetooth with my aids, and downloaded to my iPhone the myPhonak app, and showed how the aids could be controlled using it. Also, being able to use the aids to make and receive phone calls - a very useful feature. Never felt it was rushed during my time in the store.
I booked an appointment for contact lenses due to an issue in my left eye where I was seeing something like a spider web. I received a call before the appointment asking if I could come earlier, but unfortunately I couldn't due to other commitments. When I arrived at Specsavers in Wakefield, it became clear that my appointment needed to be changed from a contact lens check to a full eye examination, as my symptoms were concerning. The Specsavers team went above and beyond to find me an appointment at the same time so I could be checked as soon as possible. The appointment itself went very well. All issues were identified and clearly explained to me, including what steps I needed to take next. I was really pleased with the effort and professionalism of the whole team. My only suggestion is that when patients complete the questionnaire and are contacted beforehand, the caller could also assess whether the booked appointment type is appropriate, not just whether the patient can attend earlier. This could help avoid last-minute changes and reduce stress for both staff and patients. Overall, I would highly recommend!
The service was straight forward, we arrived a little early but this wasn't an issue and was met by polite staff, we got shown to the waiting area, a moment later my son was seen by a lady taking pictures of the back of the eyes before being taken upstairs for his test, we were called through, during the test the optician spoke to my son in an age appropriate manner, explained his test results and then escorted us to choose glasses, once ordered an appointment was made for fitting and collection the following week, on collection we once again was met by polite staff, that appointment only took 5 minutes.
Everyone is so welcoming and spend time listening to any questions that may occur during your eye test. Results are explained and advice given. Thank you so much. I also can't thank Specsavers, Wakefield enough for spotting my Mothers tumour. She has had successful treatment for an Ocular Melanoma. This is because of your due diligence and going above and beyond.
There is always a welcoming atmosphere and every member of staff seems to know what they are doing. Appointment times are kept and examinations seem thorough. You get the feeling that they want the best for you rather than to just sell glasses.
I had a wonderful experience at specsavers! I had a lovely lady called Rebecca serving me, she was very smiley and chatty and made me feel safe and confident using contacts for the first time! 5 stars! You have lovely staff members who should be widely appreciated!
Called in to re-book a cancelled appointment (by me) and was immediately attended to. All the staff were great and must mention Faheem who was excellent in his attention to detail, explanation and service - thank you and well done.
