White Rose Optical Wakefield

I would like to say we all have had bad days and made it to appointments late , the experience I had today even left the other colleagues speech less , at the reception , been to the opticians the last 2 years but never felt so dismissed ! We arrived at 10:51 for an an appointment for 10:45 , I work in a hospital and do understand the importance of punctuality as this does affect other appointments. I have walked in there before on the last 2 years and I have witnessed and seen others arrive late but never ever got such type of a rude dismissal. A blatant unkind guy at the reception at Wakefield today just fobbed my son off, it's half term and the best time for him to attend his appointment so he doesn't miss school as his writing his GCSE , I am disappointed with the attitude we received from the male staff at the reception. The ladies ( colleagues) stood behind him were visibly in utter shock as we were. We were late we do understand, but to be so dismissive with such attitude. I am dumb founded. I have seen elderly walk on there and be allowed to have their appointments. This was a mere misuse of power with such an unkind demeanour. I never write reviews but I had to. If I am late , I do understand, but to be so rude and unkind is not necessary.

I had a bad experience here. Multiple issues, including: incorrect personal details on system, wrong lenses ordered, wrong pair tinted. Once these were resolved, I was still unable to see properly with the glasses, I ended up going to Boots for a second opinion, who said the prescription was a lot different than the results of their tests. White Rose would not provide any refund, they remade the glasses for the 3rd time to Boots prescription. This was better, but I still was not happy with the sunglasses. I went to boots, who suggested the sunglasses lenses were not fitted / shaped correctly so I was looking through the wrong part of the lens, resulting in me feeling seasick etc. I gave up at this point, and asked Boots to make me some new glasses to their prescription. These were perfect, first time. The staff at White Rose are all trying hard, but I feel they are let down, by poor processes, poor equipment, and a poor optician / management team. I've now paid for glasses twice as White Rose will not give a refund.

Excellent service from all staff. Everyone was polite, friendly, courteous and professional. I had a very specific requirement for my screen work glasses and Dylan suggested a particular pair of spectacles. Although they were not suitable for me, Dylan was willing to adapt the lenses on my suggestion. Within 20 minutes, he had a prototype pair of glasses for me to try. Within a week, White Rose Optical had my 'one of a kind' screen spectacles made. If you need custom glasses there is no better place to go. Fez, the optician, has caught eye problems early for my mother and myself resulting in early treatment and good recovery for both of us. I could not recommend any other optician over White Rose Optical

Really disappointed with white rose, I think customer satisfaction has gone down hill over the years. I bought some new glasses a few weeks ago but I can't wear them as they are too wide on my face, so when I comb my hair etc I catch them and knock them off, I went in the female was very abrupt and couldn't sort them, I later went in the male had a go a few times actually making things worse...so now I'm left with a pair of glasses I can't wear and will now have to wait another year until I'm due again.. maybe it was my fault but I wasn't offered any solution or compromise and seemed rushed out as he said sorry...enjoy the rest of your day, I've been going here for years and in the beginning the staff were very customer orientated (come back Jade) and first name terms...so in the future I will look elsewhere. I hope this review is seen by the staff... Update...for some strange reason since posting this review, I've been sent a copy of my receipt via text message

Very disappointing service. I used to come here all the time until they got my glasses wrong.... They give me double vision and all the guy could say was give them another week, honestly you couldn't make it up eventually after I proved I couldn't read even the largest print they looked into it Specsavers all the way for me now

I went for my eyes testing last week and I was made to feel so welcome by all the staff. I felt like I had a thorough examination and was made to feel at ease through out. They have lots of frames to choose from and really helped me choose the best glasses for me. I got my glasses back the same day and felt really happy with the service I received. Excellent shop. Good prices, glasses can be ready very quickly. Will put lenses into old frames no bother, so good for environment and wallet! Used them for years. Friendly staff.

I cannot recommend this opticians enough so caring and all the time in the world for you. They really cannot do enough for you fantastic I recommend to everyone.
