Dr. David Petersen, Pediatric Ophthalmologist

Dr Peterson is amazing, and paired with the team at primary children's- we had an amazing experience. We came to doctor peterson originally for a second opinion for my 4 yr old who has bad eye sight and a strabismus outwards. From the first appt with Dr Peterson, he took time to be thorough and answer all questions we had, we tried non invasive options for treatment for my son for awhile before deciding surgery was what he needed. They were so helpful throughout the entire process and made sure I knew exactly what was happening and what the plan was. The day of could not have been better. Very very amazing team at the hospital today, everyone was so patient and kind and helpful and walked me through all my questions. If you're looking for a pediatric eye doctor Dr Peterson is definitely the right choice! I made the mistake of looking at after photos of other people from the surgery, and they were quite scary to be honest, but my son came home with pretty much no complaints of pain and hardly any redness in his eye, like a 2/10 on a scale of no redness to completely red. All in all a great experience from start to finish and we will be keeping him as our doctor for years to come.

After struggling with severe double vision for so many years, Dr. Petersen completely changed my life! I had somewhat of an unusual case so I was really nervous for my surgery and he was so patient in answering all my questions and making sure I felt confident. My surgery was quick and the recovery was great. Dr. Petersen and his team took such good care of me at my post op appointments and I am so happy with my results. My surgery was almost 4 months ago, and I still haven't had any double vision since my surgery, after dealing with it constantly before. I feel like I have my life back and I am forever grateful!

We went to see Dr. Peterson about a possible surgery for my 3 yo, and it's been probably eight years since we last saw him. He saw both my older kids, who are now 16 and 13. The moment he greeted me, he was just as warm and kind as before. He even remembered my kids. He was really considerate about how nerve wracking it is to talk about surgery, but he was also clear and straightforward with his opinion, which is exactly what I wanted. After leaving the office, it hit me how big of a decision this is, and how tough it must be to tell a parent their child is a good candidate for surgery. His bedside manner is truly perfected. I also felt comforted knowing he has so much experience and has seen pretty much every kind of case. Ryan McMurtrey was also amazing. He welcomed us back like no time had passed and even remembered my oldest. He walked us through the glasses changes we needed to make and was incredibly helpful. His bedside manner of my concerns with my daughter was the same as Dr Peterson's. Overall, the whole clinic, especially in the back, still feels so family owned and family centered. It was a great experience. I will be returning my other two kids back to this clinic. I made the wrong decision in leaving.

Thankful for Dr. Petersen and his staff. I have received the best care possible from the entire team. All of my visits and my surgery have been seamless and for the first time in a long time, I look forward to a future with normal vision. With Dr. Peterson, I was always confident that I was in the very best hands. I highly recommend Dr Petersen and this practice.

My son had his first visit to the eye doctor and he was very nervous. The entire staff helped walk him through everything, which calmed his nerves. The tech Quinten was amazing and so patient! Dr Peterson was also amazing and helped my son feel better about needing glasses. Thank you!

Dr. Peterson is a wonderful provider. This is the second time he has fitted my nonverbal, developmentally delayed son for glasses. Such a positive experience. Dr. Peterson is a brilliant, kind, medical professional. I highly recommend him.

We had such a great experience! The whole staff was so kind and patient with my two-year-old. Dr. David Petersen was amazing -- he had fun objects in the room that kept her entertained during a part of the exam and made the visit so easy.
