Utah Eye Centers - Ogden

I had previously been really happy, my PRK surgery went well, but I just called to book an appointment and the front desk said they could book my appointment then check my insurance when I got there. I called elsewhere; they took down my insurance info, they're getting back to me to ensure I'm covered as to not waste mine or their time. I'm battling cancer and don't have time to make additional appointments outside of the 10 plus per week that I already have just to see if my insurance is taken or not. No thanks.

Dr. Sykes took the time to let me know all that was going to happen and the aftereffects. His help was polite and thorough. So also his staff Good job and great results! Thanks so much.

Talk about Thorough!! Brenya was AWSOME!! She explained every test she would do and what it was for. She explained why she was asking certain questions. What a Sweet Heart!! Dr. Hanson was Super! I felt very comfortable in making the decision to have Cataract Surgery because of how he explained everything in detail. Nice Guy! Everyone I dealt with was Professional and Kind. Thanks to All!!

Had LASIK about a month ago and I loved The Utah Eye Center in Ogden! The staff were helpful and kind. EVERYTHING about the process was so clear. They reviewed everything with me verbally, and provided written notes I referred to multiple times during recovery. It outlined what to expect and what to do. They were available for any questions and I felt care was included any time I might need it. The only part I didn't love was not knowing what time the procedure would happen until a day or two before. Making arrangements for my kids last minute was a little tricky, but I was grateful they were able to work with my regular eye doctor in Logan so I didn't have to make multiple trips to Ogden.

The people here are super nice, but the convenience of this eye center leaves much to be desired. They have no online patient portal, do not update their website, cannot send any information through email, and basically require an in person visit to get a copy of your prescription, visit notes, or other documents. This was really frustrating because it feels like in order to get any additional support after your visit, you have to visit in person, which is pretty dang hard if you have a job and other responsibilities. I wish they would advance into the 21st century and at least get a secure email that they can use for communication. Another massive issue is the phones. Again, this feels like an issue from 1990. You call, wait for ten minutes for someone to answer FROM A CALL CENTER, and then wait again for them to transfer you, and then wait again to get to where you actually need to be. This is ridiculous! Why isn't there an option to get to optical directly? I was so frustrated. Also why on earth does a local eye center need a call center? That is asinine.

Highly recommend! My daughter and I had appointments at Utah Eye Centers this week as new patients. We needed to find somewhere new because we were unsatisfied with the care and efficiency of our previous provider. Utah Eye Centers was an absolutely refreshing change for us. The check in process was smooth and easy. Our wait time was minimal. The staff was kind, friendly and efficient. Our doctor was knowledgeable and relatable and worked hard to ensure we received quality care. We received our prescriptions without any pressure to purchase glasses at their facility. We were in and out in an hour. Great experience!

The reception area was wonderful and nice to talk to. The first person who helped my 12 year old wasn't rude but not too friendly towards us. The Dr was nice but didn't introduce himself to us when he came in or friendly upon meeting us. Especially with a child I thought he would be kid friendly.

These folks were amazing and very professional. The bedside manner goes unmatched. I was referred by my primary care physician. My previous doctor retired. I will continue seeing this excellent staff for all my eye care.
