He later completed his residency at the University of California, Davis where he specialized in Ophthalmology. Upon completing his residency, he received his fellowship status from the American Academy of Ophthalmology in San Francisco. He then began his career at Kaiser Permanente in Riverside, California, where he practiced Ophthalmology for almost 30 years. Dr. Richey is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
