Dr. Evan Kaufman listened to all my concerns and addressed each and every one of them. He gave me a thorough eye exam and useful advice. I never felt rushed. He is one of the best eye doctors I have seen in a very long time. Highly recommend!
I have been a loyal customer to America's Best for almost ten years now. I usually would have an amazing experience with them! I would have virtually no issues, literally ever. Whenever a screw would come loose or something, I would just bring it to any location and they would enthusiastically fix them! I walked into this location and I was immediately greeted by a woman seeming to glare at me. "Okay", I thought. When I stayed what I needed, she looked me up in the system in a lot of huff and puffs. I figured she was having a bad day, everyone has those! However, for glasses, she claimed she would not fix them. She said she could bend them but if they break. I told her to please not bend them, they needed the screws adjusted. The glasses were also rusting after four months, and while I brought that up, she was nasty and said it wasn't. She was being so rude to me and I politely said she was being so and that I will be taking my business elsewhere. She immediately clutched my glasses to her chest, and gave me a scowl. Eventually she gave them back, and I told her to have a good day. She was very nasty and rude. I went to LensCrafters and they fixed it within two minutes and were so nice to me, and confirmed that it was rust on the glasses. I GLADLY ordered my glasses there instead because their employees were not rude, and unprofessional! I understand we all have bad days, or not have the expertise to do a glasses fix, but she could've been a lot kinder to me. I will never go back to America's Best ever again.
The two ladies, the pregnant young lady and her coworker were very rude I asked her if I didn't like any selections that they had could I take my prescription and go elsewhere she said, " Sure, but let me know so I can remove the lock. I asked her. Why would they put a lock on my insurance card? Is it because they didn't want me to go elsewhere, and she told me, frankly, "I don't care where you go"? They are not friendly unless they are trying to sell you on leave a good review. The doctor on the other hand was very nice very professional but the two ladies were not so much I waited almost 2 weeks for my glasses and never received a call and when I did call, they told me that my glasses were not in, but they were there.
I purchased some glasses at progressive and reflective in them and I took them back twice both times they didn't work and it was a prescription issue as well so I got my refund for my glasses however I need to My insurance and now I have to deal with that to get another exam would not recommend America's best Charlottesville ever ever! Also, Paul, the gentleman works there very poor customer service.
I will not return to the Charlottesville, VA store. The optometrist and salesperson were fine but the young lady who adjusted the 3 new pairs that I purchased was inept and had bad customer service.
I was called to pick up the glasses and upon arrival it took a while to find them. I was even asked if I was sure that I had received a phone call for pick up! The glasses were found and the young lady asked me to put on the first pair for adjustment. They were very wide so she took them and bent the ear piece with her hands which made for a slightly better fit. She did the same with the second pair.
She went to adjust the third pair, Rayban sunglasses, again all being done manually, even after I had indicated that in all my years, I'd never known anyone to adjust glasses with their hands. She said that all plastic glasses work the same way but rather than use a heating machine to bend the plastic she used her hands. She bent the earpiece so far that it cracked it and then called for a co-worker. Both the young lady and the coworker assured me that I would get another pair and that they would re-order for me. I asked for a printed copy of the re-order so that I'd have that for my records but got the feeling that young lady didn't want to show me proof of the re-order although her coworker immediately went to the computer to place the re-order and gave me a print out.
I have been wearing glasses for 15 years and I've never had plastic frames adjusted manually so I'm not sure why this young lady felt that was the only way to adjust them and her attitude when I asked about her methodology was very dismissive.
I will be going to another store to have my new glasses adjusted where they will take the time with their customers to make sure that the new glasses fit properly. I will not return to America's Best except to pick up the re-ordered pair of sunglasses that were cracked.
Friendly and polite staff made us feel very welcomed. They took their time to answer our questions and we were fully informed of any eye changes. We were seen promptly and finished picking out new glasses within the hour. Our only shock was how little we spent for the exam and 2 glasses. We are recommending them full heartly and will be returning.
Honestly don't know where to start! First of all, this location never ever has trial contacts on hand, ever. Secondly, they never ever have my script in stock! However, the Waynesboro branch always does, even trials! How can I know if they're the right contacts for my eyes if you don't even have the trials on hand! You make me wait for a week! Most of all, Most of all, the lack of experience your optometrist has is reprehensible! He was totally off on my script and I mean totally. I could not see from either prescription, neither of course were in store, had to drive to Waynesboro. So, had to pay extra money to go to another optometrist! Bingo they hit it on point! They didn't leave me in the dark without trials, they went outside the box to help me so I could see, and go to work without calling out! Please do better! Please
