Great staff! Great clinic! Would highly recommend for Lasik surgery! Super happy with how my vision is now. No more glasses, no more dry eye with my contacts! If you have been debating on getting Lasik done. Just do it! You won't regret it!

First things first, the process at TLC was seamless from start to finish. The staff during my consultation was supportive, caring and very informative. They took the time to explain every step and made sure that I was comfortable. The day of surgery exceeded all of my expectations. The pre-op steps were easy, the surgeon was professional and the procedure itself was smooth sailing. The surgeon let me know of any issues that could occur post procedure, in which I had none. This has to be one of the best decisions I ever made. Thanks to the staff at TLC, I can see clearly and dont have to worry about forgetting my glasses!

Two days post-op from having LASIK on 11:22. The consult was great with Lauren and Claudia doing the pre-surgical measurements and looking at my glasses/getting my prescriptions. The day of surgery was quick and everything was well explained. The whole procedure was fast and the doctor was explaining the process the whole time. They walk with you every step of the way. Post-op was great as well. They made sure I had everything I needed and were super all around. Such a great experience!

I waited to write my review to see how my eyes adjusted. Almost a month later, I'm happy to report that my eyeballs are doing great! I have mono vision, which means that one eye can see far and the other near, so one was corrected for far sightedness and one was corrected for near sightedness. Dr. Roberts explained 80% of people have no problem with this, and for the 20% that do, they correct both eyes for seeing far and then those people wear readers for reading and computer work. My brain has had no problem adjusting and I can see near and far without any glasses at all. The procedure itself in Charlottesville was very quick, just like they say. Like 10 minutes. Seriously. You lay down on a bed, and there are two machines. You open your eyeball and the eyelid is taped, so even if you wanted to blink, you can't. Then there's another piece that's placed in your eye to widen it further. Numbing drops are applied and then the laser is placed. It's like going to a rave-lots of different colored lights flash before you and then the doctor tells you to focus on the dot, more numbing drops are applied and then there's some pressure you feel on your eye and for a split second, it's black, and then it's done and you're moved to the other machine. If you're worried you might move, you don't. Just remember to breathe. Once you're done, they give you some Terminator-style sunglasses and you are driven home. Take the Tylenol PM immediately, like when you get in the car, and take them both. Keep your eyes closed on the drive and then go straight to bed. It took me about 2 hours to fall asleep, and during that time, the drops wore off and the right eye burned. It was unpleasant, but once I fell asleep, I slept for a couple hours and felt so much better when I woke up. I kept my sunglasses on that night when we went to dinner at a friend's house, and I felt great. Use the eye drops they give you. Your eyes will feel gritty like there is sand in them. The eye drops help with that immensely. You put in medicated drops for the first 5 days and then preservative free eye drops after. I didn't have dry eye going into surgery, and I don't now, but I do notice when my eyes feel dry so I always have drops with me. Between 1 and 3 days later, you go back for a checkup, and then after that, just keep up with your eye drops as needed. 100000000000% recommend. Everyone there is very nice. Dr. Roberts answered all my questions and explained everything so well, and the nurse was super friendly. Dr. Amir did my follow up and answered the questions I had and he was also very friendly and not rushed. Tavius was the one who did my intake appointment, and he was very personable. If you're on the fence, at least make an appointment to talk to them to see if you're a candidate, but I am so happy I don't have to wear progressives (bifocals) anymore. I'm 48 so if you're thinking it's too late for you, it may not be!

Had an excellent experience getting Lasik. My husband and I got the surgery at the same time, and both of us have excellent outcomes. I was really anxious about the surgery, but the staff and doctors were kind, professional, and answered all of my questions. Highly recommend if you're considering lasik!

Unbelievable what this team can do. They are all the best of the best. Extremely efficient and accommodating to everyone in there. They got me scheduled for a same day consultation and surgery the next day. 1 day out from my surgery I tested with significantly better vision than I had with my contacts! Really minimal discomfort and top of the line tech across the entire process. I can't say enough good things about this team. Throwing away my glasses as I type this review!

I spent years thinking about Lasik. In the end, I'm very happy I chose to have the procedure done, and thrilled with how professional, helpful, and respectful TLC of Pantops was. I needed to reschedule my surgery and they were completely understanding. I never felt pressured or like I was being sold to. The procedure isn't cheap, but the price was clear up front and there was no nickel and diming or upselling or any other shady tactics. My wife called with a question the afternoon after the procedure and they were quick to answer the phone and help out. Highly recommend both the procedure and this establishment!
