I hold William Grover, MD in my highest esteem. Through working with him in the operating room, I gained insight into his expertise as a leading eye surgeon. This proved to be serendipitous, as I had been experiencing cataract-related vision difficulties for several years and could no longer delay surgery. Commencing work with Dr. Grover coincided with my need for cataract surgery, which ultimately revealed the extent of my vision impairment, including a complete loss of depth perception. The morning following my initial surgery, I was struck by the notable improvement, which was comparable to the difference between watching a standard movie and a 3D film. Upon completion of my second eye surgery, my vision was fully restored. The enhanced vibrancy of colors and the remarkable level of detail I could discern were truly impressive. Prior to undergoing cataract surgery, my vision was reminiscent of a Monet painting. Before, I was completely dependent on transition bifocal glasses. Now, I only need reading glasses to read the very small fine print on medication vials at work. Cataract surgery performed by a skilled surgeon like Dr. Grover can be life-altering. His genuine concern for patients, combined with his exceptional bedside manner, make him an outstanding physician. I am deeply grateful to have met Dr. Grover and give him my highest recommendation. I have included a couple of photos taken during my cataract surgery, as I know some people are curious about how it's done.

A shout out to Dr. Marcantonio & the Charlottesville Eye Assoc. staff. I recently had cataract surgery done in both eyes. What a huge difference. Everyone was pleasant to be around and very professional in doing their job. Everything went as scheduled and the results were amazing. Please get this surgery done if you can, it's a life changer. Ask for Dr. Marcantonio, he will take care of you with magnificent results.

This is update in response to CEA's response: Yes, I did not realize at the time I needed to translate the prescription. After I translated the prescription from CEA it still made no sense. Especially since I was not having issues with my right eye. I paid an optometrist to get an accurate prescription and to tell me that CEA's prescription was wrong and not to use it. I suggest CEA spend less energy on maximizing profits and more on quality of care I saw Dr. Miller on 08.12.2025 because I had a sudden change in my vision in my left eye. I usually use only a contact lens in my left eye when driving. A few weeks ago, one day I could see fine driving with my left contact and then the next day I could not. Literally overnight. I had a complete eye exam in February 2025; six months ago. I obviously need a new prescription for my left eye. In addition, as I told Dr. Miller, a neurosurgeon told me because of my right parafalcine meningioma that if I have a sudden change in vision, among other symptoms, I should seek medical advice. I have had two strabismus surgeries including one at the end of 2022 that help quite a bit. But my eyes still do not focus well together. No depth perception test was done when I was in the office on August 11. I also have been seeing the side of my right nose when working on the computer for the last several weeks. The tech did the eye exam for the prescription for the glasses. Dr. Miller did NOT confirm the results from the tech. To be clear, she did not have verify what corrected vision I needed. She spent maybe 5 or 6 minutes with me. The prescription I was given for glasses is obviously wrong. The following is the change from my prescription for glasses from February 2025 for my left eye with the first number being from February and the second number is from the prescription I received on 08.11.2025 from Dr. Miller : Sphere -1.50 to -2.25; Cylinder -1.00 to +1.50 (that is not a typo on my part, it went from minus to plus); Axis from 120 to 027; again the 027 is not a typo on my part. I do not have issues with my right eye vision, but the prescription given to me by Dr. Millas has also radically changed for my right eye since February, including the cylinder measurement for the right eye also swinging from negative to positive. In addition, no one at Eye Associates checked my close-up vision yet a prescription for progressive bifocals were given to me. I guess they just made that part up. I brought my contacts lens package in with me. It would have been easy to do a reasonableness check against the new prescription. Obviously, there is no quality control at Eye Associates. At the very least, I should get my money back, nothing of value was provided to me but made-up numbers. Since Eye Associates will not perform contact lens exams, I need to rely on my right contact lens for driving for now. To state the obvious, I do not recommend Charlottesville Eye Associates. I cannot imagine anyone trusting this practice for surgery.

We received a written referral to this office by another Dr. who said great things about this practice. BUT when I called to set up a consult, I was met with a very negative staff. Combative, argumentative, and condescending. The older lady who answered the phone was rude and the 'office manager' was not any better with her nasty attitude. The whole conversation was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and left myself and my husband in shock! I would never deal with this office. The Drs may be amazing but I wouldn't know because of how horrible the two ladies were to deal with when just wanting to schedule a consultation.

Dr. Miller and her staff are very kind and competent. I had a minor procedure scheduled in a timely fashion that was nearly painless! I am fortunate to have found this practice.

They do not take new patients for contact lenses as their website states, and they will not tell you this over the phone when you make an appointment either. The doctor was very nice about the mistake and gave me a contact prescription based on her knowledge and what my glasses prescription came out to be but how do you trust a prescription like that and then spend hundreds of dollars on contacts that are wrong? Her generosity to do that does not make up for the fact I went there specifically for contacts and used my only exam covered by insurance so I have to either order contacts and hope they are what they need to be or spend hundreds of dollars on another exam to ensure I don't waste money on the contacts. The office should confirm with the patient what type of eye exam they need and advise them they no longer take patients for contacts when scheduling and/or they need to update their website to reflect this change. Additionally, if you are going to accept insurance, your staff should be knowledgeable that most insurance companies only cover 1 exam and if a patient says multiple times they are only there for contacts you should advise them to leave and go somewhere else instead of repeatedly telling the patient "at least you'll only have to do the fitting portion somewhere else" knowing that fitting is going to cost hundreds of dollars.

I just completed my last visit with Dr. Will Grover following cataract surgery. I could not be more pleased with my results. Dr. Grover was a pleasure to work with. He took all the time necessary to explain the process and procedure and was most kind. He is a consummate professional. His office is extremely well run and all of my visits were efficient and informative. I would recommend Dr. Grover and his staff at Charlottesville Eye Associates without hesitation. My outcome exceeded my expectations in every way.

I did a lot of research and thought this would be one of the better practices to treat my cataracts in the Charlottesville area. I went there for the examination and later the surgeries. I was very impressed with the experience (which I wasn't looking forward to). The office staff, the staff at the surgery center and Doctors Grover, Leisure and Rose were all fantastic. I appreciate the clear explanations, the direct answers to my questions and the professionalism of everyone at the office. Everyone seemed to have my best interest in mind and worked to make the entire experience as easy and stress free as possible. Every appointment was on time and not rushed, both of which meant a lot to me. I am also amazed at the difference in my vision...WOW. I was hesitant to get this done but do not regret it at all. My vision is much clearer, colors are much brighter ( no more yellow haze) and I can easily see to drive at night. Many thanks to everyone on the teams that helped with my cataract surgery and I recommend Dr Grover and his team without reservation.
