Horizon Family Eye Care

I had one of the most uncomfortable experiences during my recent visit with this eye doctor (Dr.Z). I came in with my child, who has ADHD, and was doing my best to keep him calm and comfortable during the exam. Instead of showing patience or understanding, the doctor spoke to me in a very hostile tone and told me to be quiet so he could "do his job." It was uncalled for and extremely upsetting. When I tried to clarify some information that was different from what I was told at a previous visit, he acted as though I was challenging him and responded defensively, saying he was the doctor and had the correct information. I wasn't questioning his expertise--I simply wanted to understand the change. The entire interaction felt dismissive, intimidating, and unprofessional. Parents deserve a provider who communicates respectfully, especially when children with additional needs are involved. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I will not be returning and would not recommend this doctor.

This doctor's behavior was unacceptable. I am female and in my 50s. He was rude, berating, and his language was hostile. I will seek a forum to post a complete review of my experience with so called doctor Z. In the meantime, know I went to two appointments there and was treated increasingly poorly by him. His staff was fine. After two appointments I had no contact prescription to show for the time, money and emotional investment. I forfeited the cost and went elsewhere to repeat the entire process. It was perfectly fine and 100 dollars less.

I got tired of going to the big chain doctors where all they do is try to take your money. I really dislike that. At Horizon Family Eye Care it's the opposite. The optometrist is friendly, great with kids, and is down to earth. He gives it to you straight and tries to save you money along the way. I trust him to make sound diagnosis and to give the best advice. Change from your big chain doctor and coke here, support local honest people.

The visit made me uncomfortable. Dr. Z's behavior was very weird and not welcoming. After seeing other similar reviews, I know I'm not alone in this experience. I won't be returning.

Horizon Family Eye Care was a great experience. I just moved to the area, and they were able to get me in as a new customer in short time. Dr Zarella and his staff did an amazing job! Definitely found my permanent eye doctor.

Such a great experience! Dr. Zarella did an excellent job at helping update my prescription and find a new pair of glasses. I had some trouble after getting the glasses, realizing I needed a different type of lens and he was attentive and helped resolve the issue making sure I was 100% satisfied with my glasses! The office is clean and inviting and they are you are more than just a customer or patient there! Highly recommend!
