I ordered transition prescription glasses in early November and was told they would be ready within 14 days. I didn't receive them until January 7 nearly two months later.
However, the delay isn't the main reason for this review. The real issue is the quality of the product and my overall experience. I paid almost $400 and repeatedly explained the exact transition lens color and frame color I wanted. Despite this, the glasses were made with a different lens transition color and a frame color that I did not choose.
After weeks of calling to check on my order, I became so frustrated that I just went to pick up whatever was ready. While the customer service staff is very polite and friendly, unfortunately the product quality does not match the level of service.
The transition lenses do not work as they should, and the glasses are not suitable for my daily use or activities mainly because the lens and frame colors were selected for me instead of by me. I've been using the glasses for two weeks now and I am not happy with the product. I will not be going back to have them fixed because the entire process has already been exhausting and stressful.
My recommendation: get your eye exam and prescription here if you want, but purchase your glasses and lenses somewhere else. That would have saved me a lot of time, money, and frustration.
Visited this location today for the first time. Pros include that they put me on a cancellation list and called me today when an opening became available. The doctor I saw was great and very professional. Upon being brought back by a young lady to do my initial eye screening, I had to ask for a mask because she kept coughing and was not masked herself. There's already flu cases and other upper respiratory viruses in the area. After the eye exam, I was put with an optician to look at eyewear. She picked out the most hideous pair of eyeglasses that anyone has ever picked out for me. They reminded me of the very large 80's style eyeglasses. I guess she liked the style because she was wearing something similar. After she persisted, I finally tried them on and immediately removed them and told her that I absolutely did not like them. She continued telling me that she had been doing this for many years and had to go to school to become an optician and that she was very good at picking out frames for people based on the shape of their face, etc. She kept trying to talk me into this particular brand, even saying that the brand was preferred by my insurance. I know this isn't true because my insurance doesn't have a preference for brands of eyeglasses. I looked around some more, but honestly, I was just put off by her overall attitude and outright lying to me about the brand preference of my insurance for the eyeglasses. It was probably because the hideous frames that she was trying to sell me were more expensive than some of the others. I finally asked for a copy of my prescription and left. I would consider going back to see the same eye doctor, but I will not be purchasing my eyeglasses at this location due to the experience with the optician.
I loved my experience here with Charlotte! Charlotte Help me with finding the perfect pair for me with an amazing attitude! We had great conversations about what would work best for me and my face shape; I found the perfect pair of glasses with her help! This was my first time here and the process was so smooth and stress free! Definitely will be coming back and bringing friends and family!
I've been going to the MyEyeDoctor in Charlottesville (Merchant Walk) for several years now. If I've had an emergency or needed, something urgently, they have always been able to accommodate me. The entire staff is friendly and professional. Bonita, at the front desk, is warm and welcoming, Dr. Jayeanna Hanning provides top-notch care, and this year, Charlotte and Laura helped me find the perfect insurance to keep my costs manageable. I highly recommend this location for all your eye care needs, they're the best!
I was charged $165. for mono vision exam in addition to the $205. for the comprehensive exam. Nothing was done outside of the comprehensive exam. No trial contact lens, no fitting, just a new date on my previous prescription from another provider. The frames are way overpriced and the sales people while friendly are aggressive in selling. Unless you don't mind spending too much avoid MyEyeDr.
I think this is one of the most friendly kind and thorough offices Ive ever been to. The front desk receptionist, the tech, Dr and Gina who helped me with the prefect glasses that fit in my budget. Merchant Walk Charlottesville. The whole visit was satisfactory.
Extremely satisfied with the entire process! Everyone does such a great job here. It is evident that they work as a team and really care about their customers. Every team member did so well, although I will say that Charlotte took the experience to the next level with excellent customer service! I can tell she really cares about what she does here. Thank you!
Everyone involved in my whole visit, from having my eye exam to picking out my next set of frames, were phenomenal. Dr. Patel was very down to earth and welcoming! Charlotte in particular helped educate me extensively in getting new frames, which has helped me feel much more confident and knowledgeable for the future.Highly recommend her for those looking for new frames that are both comfortable and full of character!
