My experience with Dr. Tran was positive. He and his assistant are very efficient. I was in on a busy Saturday and they were attending to everyone quickly. I was able to book and appointment online and there was minimal wait time. The process at lenscrafters did seem rushed and had I not slowed down the optician, would have been charged more than necessary for my frames and lenses.

They deserve a negative star at this point. I had my eye exam and of course had to pay out of pocket for extra stuff they sneak in there. The doctor was fine. My issue is I got my prescription and went to lens crafters next door and filled my prescription. I got all the bells and whistles and it cost me nearly $900 for my prescription and the eye exam (that was after insurance). The problem is once I received my prescription I still can't see. My vision is better when I put on my old glasses versus the new ones. I have tried on many occasions to talk to them about maybe my prescription not being accurate and can't get anyone to answer the phone. I have left several messages. I left work early today and when I got there the doors were locked although it was during the regular business hours. I came back a few hours later and the doors were still closed. I will NEVER use their survive again because customer service is not their thing! Huge scam and LensCrafters should distance themselves from them!

I've had a horrible experience with your chesapeake location today. I made an appointment for each of my teenagers today, well in advance of the appointment time. The address provided on multiple platforms is incorrect. There was only 1 appointment booked, not 2 as I set up. The location only has 1 doctor so how could I book with 2? The lensecrafter location, when found, wasn't even where the exam was to take place! The receptionists where the exams happen were not bothered with learning the system shows two doctors nor did they try to rectify the situation by helping us have both patients seen. I was told to take a seat and they would check in my 1 son. Not acceptable. You can't provide the service I requested and weren't apologetic or anything. I'll take my business elsewhere. I hope you don't treat all your customers this way.

If you have insurance, steer away from Harbor Eyecare. They will add charges your insurance company doesn't pay for and you won't know until too late. They are a private optometrist, although they will lead you to believe they are part of a chain known for dealing well with insurance companies. They do tell you about one additional charge up front but the rest of them, they do not tell you until you have given them your insurance, then have the exam, then go to pay. They code their billing charges in such a way, that they get paid by the insurance company AND by the consumer. Buyer beware - ask first about what the costs will be BEFORE your exam. And these are all charges that do NOT INCLUDE either glasses or contacts.

Dr. Tran demonstrated extensive knowledge and exhibited remarkable patience in educating me about my macular degeneration. He took the initiative to inquire if I was consulting a specialist. Furthermore, he engaged in a discussion regarding contact lenses and together we decided I should wait. This consultation reinforced my belief that his primary concern was my well-being and visual health, rather than financial gain.

The wait here to get an eye exam is incredibly long as there is only one optometrist. You also get the price of your appointment in bits and pieces and end up paying way more than you anticipated for because of random charges that you learn about after the fact. I will be finding a new eye doctor.

A horrible experience through and through. They were late to open (I was their first appointment for the day) and everything seemed very rushed from the moment I stepped into the door. The receptionist is of little help other than routine tasks and Dr. Tran told me my previous prescription was laughably bad and assured me his computer's knew best. After picking up my updated prescription from next door I quickly realized that they were not right. Trying to get a hold of them is a difficult task and when I finally did I was told "You'll need to call back because Dr. Tran is with a patient." rather rudely with no offer to assist or call me back. I will never return here and would not recommend it to others. Note that Lens Crafters was very nice about the situation but could not provide much assistance for their provider.
