Southside Eye Center

I handle the social media and reviews of numerous businesses therefore I am not the type of person to leave a bad review, ever, this will be my first. When making my appointment I was told they take my insurance, Anthem. Once at my appointment I was then told that they may not end up taking it, but they would work with me if insurance did not cover it, meanwhile I also paid a $50 copay. The office personnel and nurses were excellent, they should get 5 stars. The doctor had little personality, but that is not what the 1 star is for. My grandparents have used this eye doctor, the older gentleman for years and have always said great things about him. Two months after my appointment I received a bill for over $150. Honestly, I didn't think much about it for another month or so, until I received another. At this point I had forgotten about the bill but was willing to pay it even though I was irritated that they didn't take my insurance when it's one of the most popular and used insurances. I had decided that when I had a little extra money I would pay this bill off, until today, it's been five months since my appointment, I received a letter saying that they were sending a bill for $152.10 to collections. I was never given the option to make payments, pay it in two payments, nothing. There is also no way to pay this business unless you call their office during business hours. I'm going to pay the bill, but I will never step foot in this establishment again and will warn anyone who plans on doing so.

Very friendly and thorough staff

It was confusing in getting there because of GPS directions. When you get inside it is very confusing in the design. Way too many waiting rooms, check-ins check-outs, etc. Other than that, staff is very friendly, fast, yes I said fast and efficient. Only had to wait 5 min and I was very early for my appt. I saw Dr. Javey and she is good. Highly recommend her as a retina surgeon if you need one or are a diabetic.

My daughter needed new frames immediately - she is totally dependent on her glasses. We found Southside Eye online and hoped for the best. Within an hour of arriving at Southside, she had new frames with her complicated lenses fitted in the frames. The staff was friendly and helpful in a time of high anxiety and stress. THANK YOU to the whole team at Southside for taking care of her and turning this situation into a solution-oriented team effort. We will DEFINITELY be back for eye care and frames again soon!

These professionals know their business. All staff are courteous and helpful. They've been there for years and and I believe Dr. La Roche, III is the son of the eye doctor there before him. They also have a very nice glasses shop if you need a pair after your visit. For a thorough exam and professional eye care, give them a visit.

I waited six months for a trial set of contacts that I had never received. It was explained that I traveled for work and they had the address to mail them to. They wanted me to take a day off of work travel six hours to try on contacts to get the prescription that has been paid for.

Doctor was good but I was told numerous times when I called that they excepted my insurance and now they have billed me telling me they are trying to get out of the contract. I asked again about insurance when I checked in and they verified they took it. Sorry...I wouldn't have seen the doctor had I known they weren't good on their word.

This was my first visit to get my eyes checked. Dr. La Roche, and his assistants and office staff were very nice. He was very thorough and answered any questions I had. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend Southside Eye Center.
