I originally called SEA due to an eye injury. They were able to see me within the hour. I was in pain and needed help. The whole staff from the front desk to the Dr's were excellent! A few months later I needed new glasses in a hurry, so of course I went back to SEA. Their team were a huge help and I had my glasses the next day! Thank you again!
Very professional, friendly staff. Smooth check-in, exam, & review of any issues. Dr Dragon was great. Measurement for new glasses was excellent. All around superb visit from start to finish, as usual.
I've been going to this eye doctor's office for years and I've always received professional, clear, and respectful service -- until this visit. Unfortunately, my experience with the staff member Jay was very disappointing.
Her facial expressions, tone, and overall attitude came off as dismissive. She did not care to explain the process, my insurance details, or any changes clearly. I had to go back and forth with her just to understand why I suddenly had to pay upfront, even though I've never been required to before. Only after pushing the issue did she finally mention that I could pay half, which should have been explained from the beginning.
On top of that, she made no effort to speak with anyone about making an exception for my medical transport coming from a different city. It felt like she wasn't paying attention, wasn't listening, and wasn't interested in helping at all.
This office has always been professional, but this time I did not feel the same level of care. Jay was a lazy communicator and did not explain anything clearly regarding insurance or payments.
I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future patients, because I truly do value this office and have always had great visits in the past.
This place is rude. The receptionist is terrible....when I tried booking an appointment she said she doesn't have anything until February 2026 because someone's on maternity leave so when I try to book the appointment for February she said no I can't take the appointment for February you just have to call back in February. So I asked the same receptionist if I call back in February will you tell me you no longer can't take me in February now it's May or June? she said yes correct.... ridiculous and nasty!
Dr. Dragon and his assistant Melanie was very pleasant! The African American receptionist wasn't all that pleasant. It's like she is rushing you to get out of her presence! Over all I would definitely recommend Dr. Dragon, that receptionist needs an attitude adjustment!!
My visit was quick and effortless.
I already had my perscription, I picked out the frames I wanted ahead of time so I brought them with me.They filled my frames with the prescription I requested and within 1 week and 5 days my glasses were ready for pick up!
The staff was nice to me and wore very nifty eye ware! The price was good too!
This was my first time going there. The women at the front desk are so nice and welcoming. They made me feel really comfortable like I had been seen here for years. The doctors are professional and got me in and out. Overall, the entire staff gave me a great first experience! I am so glad I chose Southern Eyecare Associates.
I've been here three times and it was a pretty disappointing experience overall. I get the feeling they're only polite to you when you're an "easy" patient with no health issues and you're willing to buy something from them. The first and second visit was fine since I was getting new glasses (paid a lot for the glasses, which ended up being very flimsy), but the third was astonishing. I have astigmatism in both eyes and they wanted me to wear correction lenses. They wouldn't believe me that the new contact lenses they wanted me to buy were extremely uncomfortable and that my vision was blurry. They said I would adjust to the lenses after a week or two, which I said wouldn't work for me since the lenses were so uncomfortable that my eyes were streaming and I was constantly blinking. I say "They" because there were about four or five different optometrist assistants who came in to see me and were very curt and were trying to get me out of there as quickly as possible. I apologized for the trouble but they acted like I was trying to pull a fast one on them and like I was wasting their time. I had to really advocate for myself to even go back to the contacts I had before. I moved and had to switch optometrists due to location and when I asked them if I could have my prescription sent to my email they said no, which I understand due to HIPAA, but the front desk associate was very rude and cut me off every time I tried asking a question, ex.
"would it be possible for you to tell me what-" "we don't do that".
Really frustrating. I hope they are able to treat their future patients with more respect.
