I've been seeing Dr. Best off and on since childhood and he is hands down one of the best in the Roanoke valley. I've sat in many chairs across Salem and Roanoke and have never gotten the hands on attention and diligence like I received today from Dr. Best. If you want an A+ optometrist you can trust please call his office! You will not be disappointed.

I get a free eye exam every year with my insurance. His office is lying to my insurance co in order to collect a $35 copay. I'll never go back to him again and they can eat the $35.

Doctor Best takes a lot of time during your eye exams and he is very personal and he listens to what you have to say. If you need a good eye doctor who is really concerned about you as an individual Gary best is your man!

Called to set up appointment and asked about cost of exam with pupillary distance and that i needed a copy of the retina photo which Becky said they would send me was and told $140.00 . The only reason i choose this Dr. was to have photo of retina.When filling out paper work there is an added charge of $49( which makes the exam $189.00 or the most expensive by far in the valley) to provide this. Before exam I discussed this with Becky who handles glasses and assisted in exam and said it only applies if i buy glasses online and bring back for adjustment. At end of exam Dr. did not have pupillary distance even when i saw it written down. At checkout Becky said she was charging me $49 ( for nothing).and became very hostile and said quote " i will not sell you glasses" after I said if she could get close to online price I would buy from her.. She then said she was not going to charge the$ 49. Also the lady complained about making money , and then when ringing up the the bill said i am charging you $149. I guess the $9 was to swipe credit card? Had Becky been honest on initial phone call about fees i would not have set foot in this office. Still waiting for copy of retina photo after multiple requests... Worst retail experience ever and happens in what's suppose to be professional health care provider. Becky has since called my cell 7 times leaving only one message saying "you are some piece of work"- very professional.

Dr. Best is simply the best. It's been a few years back, still, he provided me with excellent eye care. Frankly, he saved my vision. His wife was quite helpful as well. Thank you, Dr. Best.

Nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Best and his whole office! They treat you with care and respect. I drive two and half hours just to see them. Well worth the extra time.

I've been going to Dr. Best for over 20 years, and he's done an amazing job with my vision and my family's vision. I highly recommend him!

Like the doctor, hate that I can't email him.
