Dr. Rostov is an excellent doctor. She explained the issues with my cornea and described my surgery in ways I could understand. She called me the evening of my surgery to make sure I was ok. Her program after surgery is rigorous but designed to make sure that there is every chance for success. The multiple follow up appointments mean she can quickly correct anything that is not going well. She encourages me to ask questions and her responses are clear. Her staff is cheerful and very helpful. I would highly recommend her.

I had cataract surgery with LAL lenses. Everything was extremely professional from start to finish. Dr. Rostov and her staff were friendly and informative, explaining everything at each appointment. Beautiful office with up to date equipment. I had a first class experience. My vision goals were met and my vision is the best it has been in decades!

The most important decision for me in choosing a laser eye clinic is the experience of the surgeon, and that's what led me to Dr. Rostov. She's been performing SMILE longer than anyone else in the PNW, and she also has the most up-to-date laser (which the literature shows improves clinical results). SMILE is a more challenging surgery to perform than LASIK, and having a skilled surgeon makes a big difference in visual outcomes. Dr. Rostov didn't disappoint. One month after surgery, I now see 20/10 in both eyes -- that's as good as it gets. She and the other staff were friendly and caring. The front-desk staff have also been patient with me as I've asked for receipts of different formats to satisfy the draconian requirements from my insurance company.

I cannot properly express how excited I am with the results of my SMILE surgery performed by Dr. Rostov and team. I put a lot of time and energy into researching doctors for this procedure, and ultimately landed on Dr. Rostov following multiple recommendations from other doctors in the area. I am only one day post-op and already see better than I have in 20 years (and I know this will continue to improve over the next weeks). I was incredibly nervous for this procedure, but the team was so incredible. They had two people to hold my hands, and the team got me talking so much that I forgot I was even having the procedure. It felt more like having brunch with friends, chit-chatting and then it was over! I am so pleased by the whole experience, start to finish, and the follow ups. I couldn't be happier with the care and attention I received at BPV. Dr. Rostov did my LAL cataract surgery in October. In the month leading up to the surgeries and in the two months that followed, she, Dr. Savanda and her staff worked as a tight team, often communicating with each other on the spot, to solve problems and answer my questions and concerns. I had originally gone with a larger cataract center, but after frustrating times and feeling like I was more of a number than a person, I switched. It was a big change. Dr. Rostov, Dr. Savanda and their team were so attentive to my needs and I felt they were vested in me and my outcome. Dr. Rostov uses a state-of-the-art precision laser and is currently training others in its use. After stories I had read (in my research) and a friend's personal testimonial about some of the problems she faced during LAL (at another place), I was honestly bracing for a difficult road ahead, but it all went smoothly. Perhaps there was some luck in that too, but I really owe a great thanks to people at BPV for their skill, experience and care. After all these years of dealing with less-than-ideal vision (very high diopters and astigmatism in addition to cataracts), the world looks great and I'm thrilled to ditch my contacts and glasses. Dr. Rostov and Dr. Svanda are consummate professionals who replaced my lenses and carefully monitored my eyes to ensure I had perfect multifocal vision. They went above and beyond what I ever expected.... Dr. Rostov even called me in the evening after my lens surgery to make sure I was doing fine. If you want this kind of extraordinary care and service I'd choose them and their extended team as my providers.

I had SMILE done here and I honestly can't recommend it enough. The experience was absolutely phenomenal -- truly life-changing. It's such an incredible feeling to wake up and see clearly without contacts or glasses. At my first consultation (which is free by the way!), both Dr. Rostov and Dr. Svanda introduced themselves and took the time for me to get to know them -- it wasn't rushed or transactional at all. They walked me through everything in detail, answered all my questions with patience and clarity, and based on all the tests, recommended the best procedure for my eyes. I could tell right away that they're passionate about what they do. Alexis is amazing -- she helped me understand all the financial details and pre- and post-op instructions, and was always available to answer any questions. Not only is Dr. Rostov is incredibly skilled, but she is also compassionate, and caring. It's really inspiring to hear about the international work she does. There's a picture on the wall in Alexis' office that will just fill your heart -- you'll know it when you see it! The front desk team is so helpful and responsive. My first interaction with them was very kind, as I was nervous about the cost of the consult (which, again, is free!). Their billing system also took time to register that I had made my payment, but even before I asked, they reached out to me and kindly let me know I could disregard the account balance. On surgery day, everything ran so smoothly. The whole staff was warm, friendly, and supportive. Also I have to give a special shout out Kat, the tech, because she was so fast and efficient with all the tests and machines, getting my prescription just right, and even while doing everything so quickly and professionally, we were joking and laughing. By the time surgery day came around, I felt like I knew everyone and was in such good hands. And speaking of hands -- Kat's special job was to hold my hand during the procedure (which was genuinely so comforting) and one of the jokes was also about her job to count my eyelashes after it was over (I still have them all!) The surgery was so quick and easy. Dr. Rostov talked me through every step, telling me how great I was doing, and the environment was so relaxed and cheerful as we chatted in the OR. Alexis even joked, "She's doing so good, has she done this before?" which made me feel so encouraged and cared for. And yes -- the Valium helps too Another really sweet detail -- I brought some snacks with me since I didn't have time for breakfast, and they even gave me a yogurt and a peach! That kind of thoughtfulness was present in every interaction. Even after surgery, Dr. Rostov personally called me to check in that evening. I've never experienced care like this before. My recovery went beautifully. I followed all the eye drop instructions carefully, took lots of naps, and didn't touch my eyes -- and by the time I woke up from my first nap after surgery, I was already seeing clearly. I barely needed any pain relief -- just one dose of Ibuprofen right after, and that was it. Slight stinging with the drops at times, but no complaints at all! Also -- the technology they use is amazing. It's so exciting that Dr. Rostov has the latest technology. The laser part takes 9 seconds for each eye! My brother came with me and recorded the procedure through the viewing window, and watching it back is just mind-blowing. It's miraculous science, and it's in the best hands. The entire staff was consistently friendly, professional, and genuinely excited for me throughout the whole process. My follow-up appointments were just as warm and welcoming. I never considered going anywhere else, and I'm so glad I didn't. If you're on the fence about getting laser eye surgery -- do it!! And do it here!!
