Dr Preston's knowledge is vast. She's an extremely caring and professional eye doctor. My children have been seeing her for over 20 years. She continues to see them even though they have turned into young adults with special needs. Her office runs in a timely manner and provides everything that we need.
Her care and expertise has been vital in helping my daughter with her lazy eye and my son with different vision issues.
I highly recommend Dr Preston.
BTW, wait times are no longer an issue with this office and they haven't been since covid.
Dr Preston is a unique doctor. She follows a very different style of her kind, and one of the best doctors I have ever seen. My kids are so lucky to have her. Well, I have to say that customer service may not be best when it comes to wait times, which is clear from the other reviews. But, if you are choosing Dr Preston, you are doing that for a reason, and you should not mind the long wait times. Be ready for a one hour visit at best, and two hours in the worst case. But, you must do that for the care you are getting for your kid. Yes, if the visit was an hour shorter, you could do something else. You have to sacrifice that extra hour every six months or a year, whatever your visit frequency is. In return, you are getting something much more precious. If your kid needs some therapy that you cannot get from a typical clinic, please stop talking about wait times or how rude the receptionist was. Dr Preston has a PhD on the psychology of vision, and she will have the best techniques if your kid suffers from lazy eye, or inability to focus well. It is worth every extra minute you have to wait there, just be patient.
We used to take our daughter to this clinic. It started out great with a previous Doctor who moved away. After that, the wait times were horrific. You can't expect a 2.5 year old to wait an hour and 15 minutes. It happened 3 times in a row!
2 Stars because the staff is very good with kids, and knowledgeable. However, we also changed clinics to the Kirkland Pediatrics due to the distance and waits.
Also, I felt Dr. Preston was a little extreme with dolling out diagnosis without much time spent really looking at my daughter.
UPDATE: I'm sad to say they stopped seeing clients on Saturdays a few years ago which was helpful for us living so far away and then they stopped taking our insurance altogether. Thanks for the years of great care!
My daughter has been a patient here for several years. The staff is wonderful. They work well with children, they're patient, and knowledgeable. The office is always clean, toys for the wait, good magazines for parents. We come from out of town for every appointment so I really appreciate that they're open on Saturday's. They're also understanding of being a few minutes late. I block out at least two hours for a full eye exam. I don't mind the wait for the level of care.
The customer service is really bad. I called at 11:56am and want to schedule an appointment for my 2 years old. When I say my son is a new patient. The lady said there is cut off and then hang my phone. But I have full signal bar of my phone. I called several times after that. No one pick up the phone. I think she just went to lunch.
Dr.Preston has been nothing short of wonderful! We had to wait 4 months to get our first appointment but we have been able to get in pretty easily after that. She is kind, caring, and very knowledgeable! My daughter's eye issues have been addressed and we have been equipoise with the tools to improve them and we appreciate all the extra care! Totally worth the wait!
Dr. Preston is AMAZING!! She was so patient and kind with my 14 year old autistic non-verbal, social anxiety, special needs son. She did her best to make him feel comfortable and not overwhelmed, dimming the lights, speaking so softly, with a quiet, calm soothing voice. Then when we were done she cleaned the waiting room and had the next family to stand in the hall way around the corner so he could walk through their very small waiting room without the added anxiety of a bunch of people to walk by. Well worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to find an optometrist that would do a non-verbal eye exam and adapt to his needs.
The doctor here is extremely caring and very knowledgeable. She has dedicated her whole life to helping not only kids but challenged adults. She has been know on numerous accounts to see patients without charging due to insurance issues and a child's need for care.
Waiting for a appointment with her is out a few month usually but it is well worth the wait. Due to COVID Dr Preston had to downsize her facility/schedule and staff which leads to longer wait times to get certain types of appts. NO more long waits in waiting room. I don't believe there is a pediatric eye specialist around that gets you in right away unless it is emergency. There are some that do not come close to setting standards that Dr Preston does. BEWARE!!!!
She is WONDERFUL!!!!
