I had an appointment at 10:30 AM at the Bellevue office today. I arrived on time and had previously confirmed my appointment after receiving multiple reminder texts emphasizing punctuality and a $75 no-show fee for cancellations within 24 hours.
However, it was 11:25 AM and I still had not been seen by the doctor. I had clearly informed the front desk that I needed to leave by 11:30, yet there was no meaningful update or accommodation.
If a practice expects patients to strictly honor appointment times and threatens financial penalties for delays or cancellations, there should be the same level of respect for patients' time. Communication about delays and better schedule management would go a long way.
I understand that medical offices can run behind occasionally, but a full hour without being seen, especially after stressing punctuality in reminder messages -- is not acceptable.
I hope Overlake EyeCare takes patient time as seriously as it expects patients to take theirs.
