My husband and I recently had our initial, new patient appointments with North Coast Eye Care. We were very impressed with the entire team and staff!! Their equipment is first rate, the exams thorough and the information they shared with us was extremely helpful. We saw Dr Chen and highly recommend her and the entire team. We've never had eye care this good!!

Patients deserve honest insurance information. Check with your insurance before you make an appointment! Was told they take my insurance over the phone before I made an appointment, but then I'm told after my exam that they don't, is that ethical? The biggest issue here was the inconvenience and lack of transparency. Situations like this take advantage of how confusing insurance already is for patients and feel like a tactic to get people in the door. The person over the phone told me they took my insurance, so I made an appointment based on that information. After my eye exam I was informed they were out of network and I would need to pay and request reimbursement. I felt caught off guard and reminded them what I had been told. My eye exam was only covered because there was a medical reason. I was then directed to the optician to order glasses and told I would get a percentage off, but once we reviewed frames and lenses it was clear it would still cost hundreds of dollars out of pocket. I took my prescription to Sequim Vision Clinic instead, where they actually take my insurance and I didn't pay a dime. About six months later, my husband made his own eye appointment and I didn't have time to check whether it was the same place. He was told on the phone that they took our insurance, but the same thing happened to him when he went in. Am I wrong and thinking this is not ethical business practices? If anything it's a definite gray area that works in their favor. If patients were simply told upfront that you are out of network but reimbursement often works, people could make informed decisions and go where it actually makes sense for them. It would save everyone a lot of time, frustration, and unnecessary backtracking.

I had a scare with my eyes and Dr. Chen and her staff were amazing at surrounding me with support and the health consult I needed. She went out of her way on a busy day and also let me know she is always available. I give the North Coast Eye Center a 10 out of 5 and I cannot say thank you enough.

As this is a new business, it appears that all of the diagnostic equipment is the of latest technology. What a pleasure to be shown the results of my tests in the most advanced format that I have ever seen. Stacey Chen was courteous and professional and took the time to explain things to me that had not been done in the past. I will be going to North Coast Eye Care from now on.

What I thought was a routine eye exam ended up saving my life. The office staff went above and beyond to get me in last minute, and the doctor caught a serious condition that required immediate action. The next morning I was admitted to the ICU for four days. I was released today, and I am incredibly grateful. This entire team's attention, urgency, and care truly made the difference. Highly recommend.

North Coast Eye Care is wonderful! From the ease of scheduling, to the visit, everyone was amazing! I was seen quickly, given a variety of options for different types of contacts that would best suit my concerns, and helped to pick out a new pair of glasses!
