DR. TASSO S. BUTLER JR., OD

Was told I lied on my eye exam when I went in to get new glasses since my last pair broke. Didn't even do a proper exam, I couldn't see and he could care less. I've had glasses for over 10 years prescribed by multiple doctors over the years. The office staff were rather rude and the doctor gave me the wrong prescription. Never again.

This is one of the best eye doctors I have been to. Everyone there was super personable and friendly. Doctor was really nice. Will 100% go back. Plus they got me in quickly. Would give 6 stars if I could.

I'm new to the area and was due for an eye exam, and this office had the best availability. The doctor was kind and professional, along with the staff working the reception. I had a pleasant experience, I would definitely recommend the office. I was apprehensive at first due to the other reviews, I will say the location is a bit outdated and old school, but doesn't affect the level of care you receive.

Husband went there. Was told he had diabetes damage to his eyes. He's been tested and is NOT a diabetic. Went to his usual eye doctor and that eye doctor flat out said that if my husband had taken the glasses prescribed, he'd have gone blind. The culprit was a cataract, not diabetic damage. Plus the doctor himself was very rude and tried to push letting him make a dr appointment with a doctor my husband doesn't even go to.

One year later I returned to see Dr. Butler. The experence was as good as the previous time. He clarified questions I had after a visit with an ophthalmologist who spoke of a non medical topic I didn't understand. Dr. Butler took the time to give me insights I was not aware of. Dr. Butler is top notch all the way. His eye exam would be 60 to 100 dollars higher in a large city. Dec 2020 Sept 2019 I saw Dr. Butler in Lewisburg, W. Va. It was evident he's well experienced and I received a very thorough eye exam. Dr. Butler showed sincere concerned for the health of my eyes and worked with dedication within his field of medicine. He took the time to explained my vision problems and was patient with my many questions.He is licensed to practice in Va. and W.Va. so he meets the requirements of both boards. He made it known I was free to depart with my Ophthalmic Rx to locate my Optician of choice. This I did because the eyeware selections are a little better in Richmond, and other reasons. The doctor and staff were most polite. A Good experience ! !

Do not ever go to Dr. Butler's vision office in Lewisburg. This makes 3 trips to Lewisburg and they still can't get my glasses right. Last Thursday, they put the wrong lense in them. Today, a week later, they send only one lense...no frames, supposedly rushing my order since the first order was incorrect. Both times they call and tell me that my lenses are ready. No calls back to let me know it was still not correct. Guess they think it's cool to take more time off work and drive 45 minutes for one lense. Who orders one lense and no frames??? I don't normally vent on here, but this is just ridiculous. I will never go back. Still waiting on the right pair.

Excellent doctor and staff
