Gundersen Eye Clinic La Crosse

We were turned away from my daughter's eye appointment because they do not use the 15 minute check-in time on MyChart like the other Emplify departments we've seen. We arrived on site at the time shown on MyChart, but we had to circle the parking lot several times and ended up parking a block and a half away. By the time we arrived at check in, we were 10 minutes after the MyChart time, and when the receptionist called back, we were refused. It was disappointing that there was no empathy shown for a mother with three small children, of whom the baby cried the whole car ride just to get there. Last year, though the optometrist was kind, the woman who did all the testing on my daughter's eyes was cold and unfriendly, especially for the patient being a young child. So, I am taking this as God's sign that we are meant to go elsewhere for our optometry needs. We will be trying the Onalaska location next, since at least parking won't be an issue. I encourage everyone else to do the same! Update: I contacted the Patient Care Representative per the reply to my initial review, and the manager of the eye clinic called me within just a couple of days to talk about my experience. She was kind and respectful, and she listened to my feedback and ideas for improvement. She apologized that it happened and acknowledged that there was room to improve. So while my experience was so poor, the follow up I received afterwards made me feel valued and appreciated. That's a sign of a great organization.

My dad comes here every few weeks for eye injections. We travel 1hr each way. He is wheelchair bound with dementia and diabetes. We end up waiting 2hrs for the injections EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. This has been very hard for him to deal with, especially when he needs assistance for the bathroom. He gets quite upset and angry, and I try to calm him down if I can. The staff are very nice, but both my father and I dread coming here because it takes more than half the day for just one appointment.

Amazing clinic!!! Dr. Funk and his team are amazing! I am 25 years old and had a 4.75 prescription in my eyes for glasses and he did my lasik 4 days ago and I'm seeing clearer than ever!! The night of lasik i could see and the next morning I was seeing 20/15. That's better than 20/20, I am so thankful and blown away! Life changing!! And affordable!!! Would recommend to anyone.

I couldn't be happier with this facility & staff!!! The care my eight year old received before, during, and after her eye surgery was top-notch. Dr. Nash, nurse Lynn, and their entire team made us all feel right at home. The icing on the cake was that Lynn made an ID badge for her take-home stuffed puppy... affectionately named "Nash"! Thank you all.

What a horrible place!! I drive over an hour each way for an appointment just to be told to leave and come back another day!!! Are you kidding me?! Is this how you do business?! What a joke!! You should be ashamed!!

I've had 4 surgeries by Peter Bracha and my vision keeps getting worse every time he performs a surgery the last 4th one he started to work on the left eye which was my good Eye and says sorry I was in a hurry and started on the wrong eye I called the Hospital and told them what happened and they said don't worry we won't charge you for the extra Anastasia And when I left the hospital my vision was blurry in both eyes

Always has my back with reminders! Saves my job!

The Drs @ Gunderson Lutheran really take the time to explain to their patients about test results & their questions that their patients have. I would very highly recommend Gundersen Lutheran to my friends & family in the future.
