In this modern day it took entirely too long to get my glasses. .had i known they had to be sent someplace else to.have the lense placed into frames that i alteady had.and or that it would take this long.i would gone some place else.....further..there needs to be more trainging on customer service for the clerk optical clerk or whoever sits at that frontdesk and has 1st contact with "paying" customers,...a little decorum and proper custo mer service goes a long way and rudeness on the part of an aurora employee has no place in a position where you are dealing with the public..Also..it has always been my experience that when one buys new glasses from An Optical Service such as Aurora..an eye glass CASE is also always provided N.C...as a courtesy and a "thank you" but, ..!.....

I was told that glasses would be available in 1 to 2 weeks after placing the order. I gave the optical shop my prescription on 3/27/24 and my glasses weren't ready until 4/26/24, that's 31 days. Enough said? Not quite. When I picked up the glasses there was no acknowledgement, much less an apology by optical shop staff for the long delay in delivering my glasses to me. Customer service quality? Buyer beware.

The past bad reviews are the opposite of mine. 5 stars, WELL DESERVED! Selection is great, prices in line with other places. What I am impressed with is the customer service! Professional, courteous patient & helpful. Buying eyewear can be intimidating after all you wear glasses every day & they're an investment. When I chose my 1st pair, each of the staff expressed their professional opinions on which were right for my face. They explained why not to choose certain types, how glasses should fit your face, etc. Not all shops do this. I felt so good about my experience that when I picked up my glasses, which were made perfectly & by the date promised, I splurged & ordered another pair! Thank you!!

After 20 years as a customer, I will be going elsewhere to purchase new glasses. Last week I spent nearly $700.00 on two pairs of glasses (that's after insurance and the "deal" on my Transitions pair). However, one of the pairs of glasses just don't fit right. I've gone back twice. The second time I was told I could spend another $30.00 and buy new frames or get half my money back ($115) on the frames that don't fit correctly. When I explained that I wanted all my money back, Star told me "we don't do that." "So," I replied, "I have no choice but to either pay more money or get less money back, if I want to just walk away?" Her response? "Pretty much." I realized then that my business doesn't matter and that I don't matter. I will continue to work with Dr. Praeger, but will no longer purchase glasses from the optical shop.

When I called to ask how much a routine eye exam is, without using any insurance, they could not answer my question, and was told I had to be transferred to the Billing Dept. How do the folks scheduling appts not know this answer? Seems fishy to me. There should be one set rate to quote for this routine service, especially when I don't have insurance to bill. Another thing that caught me off guard is when they answered the phone, they didn't say they were Aurora Ophthalmology. They greeted me as "Good Hope Ophthalmology". That's confusing to folks, especially since one of their previous doctors, Dr. Dana Webb, left the Aurora group last August and opened her own practice called "Good Hope Vision Center" just down the street. I'm just not impressed with how they just represented themselves, so I will go elsewhere.

I made an appointment for my son. They called during his appointment to get his last contact lens Rx. I scrambled to find it online and showed her via facetime. I thought all was well after that. They finished the exam and when I followed up they gave him the EXACT same Rx that I showed her online. Which was at least 2-3 years old! My son has a strong(-9.00) Rx and at all his other eye exams it has changed significantly! So I find it hard to believe that his eyes haven't changed AT ALL in the last couple of years? I went to the office to speak with the man that examined him. For one, they didn't even give him any sample contacts. My son told me NO ONE offered him any. However, they charged my insurance for an exam and a fitting! She only ordered a sample pair of lenses after I went up to talk to them. She took my number down and was supposed to forward it to the eye doc. Of course I never heard back from anyone at the office! The reasoning they gave me was, if people can see well with their current Rx they usually give them the same one. Really? Sounds lazy and unprofessional to me. Never again!!!

They were polite, service was good and I had a great experience with them.
