Optix On Downer

I have had the best experiences with Alana. Forgive me if the spelling is incorrect. She is great at picking out frames that look good on me. She is confident and clearly amazing at what she does. She has helped me problem solve some issues I have had with my lenses that no one else thought of. They were unable to help me but when I presented my issue to Alana she found a solution. I left there today extremely happy and satisfied. Please give Alana a raise and don't let her quit at Optix on Downer. Karla

Edit: Since posting this review, I was contacted by Dr. McGinley who did my exam. He apologized for the experience I had and offered to make it right in a couple of meaningful ways. It is clear he cares deeply about customer experience, and I don't expect that my experience would be common. It is worth noting that my insurance did not, in fact, cover lenses only. That said, I cannot completely disregard the other things I did experience. ---- I had what started to be a good experience with these people until they lied to me about what they were going to use my insurance for, and then lied to me about what my insurance covered, and never gave me an option to decide how many contact lenses I wanted. They told me to my face that they were going to not use my insurance to purchase contact lenses, because it would go further on glasses. That makes sense. But then they ordered 12 months worth instead of the 6 I would have wanted, without ever giving me a decision. I told them I would be returning to decide on glasses, which would then have my insurance apply to it. When I returned, not only did they say that my insurance was used up already on the contacts, but they refused to allow me to get new lenses without frame purchases, when my insurance clearly states that lenses only is accepted in this. I will not be returning here.

I usually never leave reviews, but I have had nothing but a great experience every time I go to Optix. Not only have they worked out my tricky prescription, they have given me options that other eye doctors never did. I also had a serious eye issue last summer that was causing me extreme pain. They were more than patient with the issue and they really cared about the progress of my eyes. Additionally, I had ordered a pair of frames from a company that got my lenses completely wrong. I had brought them to Optix to see if they could help me out. We had a bit of trouble getting the lenses to align properly with my eyes but every staff member was SO helpful and patient with the process. Now I have frames that I never thought I was going to get fixed! Highly recommend them!

I stepped on my glasses while visiting relatives in Milwaukee the week of July 4. One side came off and I couldn't find the screw that holds it in place. I went to Optix and the friendly and helpful reception person, Lily, said they could fix it. About 10 minutes later they came out with the repaired glasses. When I asked how much, they said "no charge." I said they had saved the day and I wanted to pay something, but they said no, it was their policy not to charge for such things. First-class customer service!

Now the only place we go for eye exams as the owner found why my prescription from a small chain store was incorrect. He was great with my teen's first-time exam!! Side note, my Zero Gravity titanium frames are still in perfect shape a year and a half later. :) Tyffani was the best help ever when I bought these glasses!

No issues. He's apart of my Health Care plan and I picked him based on Google Reviews. Brian >>> This guy is a cool cat, Smart, Professional, and most importantly Normal and again Smart. I will go back and do recommend.

Dr. Brian McGinley was fabulous. I had been to another local doctor and even Frodtert's eye institute for a long standing and troublesome eye infection. He made a couple of really smart suggestions and put me on daily contacts to solve a long term problem. I highly recommend him. The staff is very responsive and friendly as well. A very good experience.

I have been going to Optix on Downer for my optometry and eyewear needs for years now after switching from my last optometrist. The staff have always been friendly and professional in their interactions with myself and others when I've visited. Dr. McGinley has his offices outfitted with newer technology which makes eye exams quick and easy. They carry a wide variety of frames, are happy to help you select a pair, and the glasses I've purchased here have held up very well over time. I've also brought my frames back for adjustments which they do at no cost. Overall, I've been very happy with my experiences at Optix.
