Eye Care Center of St. Croix- is now Enhanced Eye Care

I have had a great experience with everyone that works here. Seeing a lot of poor reviews that don't vibe with what I have experienced. Great doctor as well as other staff. Some folks just simply may not be a fit so give them a try for yourself and you will hopefully have the same experience I have had.

Very similar experience to another recent reviewer. We have gone here for quite a few years, with the same insurance. No issues up until now. I noticed on my insurance website the claims were being denied so I proactively called the office only to be told, in a very short and rude tone, that they don't take our insurance. When I asked why weren't advised prior to our appointments she said, she doesn't have time to preauthorize or verify insurances. That makes no sense, we have used in the past and even the clinic website says they take it. Very disappointed in the administration side of the business. The provider herself is wonderful! Our employer is changing insurance for next year but we will be looking for a new facility moving forward.

I certainly will not be back. I hadn't heard from them, so called to see if my glasses were in. The answer was yes. I asked why they didn't inform me. In a sharp tone she said that I got a call and she left a voicemail. Which I did not receive EITHER (I mean if I had why would I be calling to see if my $500 purchase was there). Triple checked my calls and voicemails. Nothing. So there was a misunderstanding. Fine whatever happens a lot! What I have an issue with is how it was handled or really lack thereof. Zero empathy. An attitude. I mean she could have at least verified my phone number or something to pretend she cared. There are plenty of eye places I can spend my money. This won't be one of them. Good luck.

So a couple years ago I went to metroeyes for work safety glasses and had a great experience. Recently went back for eye exam and purchase of new personal glasses. Upon arrival I had my insurance card ready and receptionist said she had my info and all is good. The exam went well nothing changed in my prescription and I could pick out new frames at my leisure. I just returned a couple weeks later to shop for frames and was informed my insurance is not excepted there. I also find out my exam is not covered. Not sure what kind of scam they are trying to pull but good luck getting you payment for exam. I was lied to about my insurance coverage and truly disappointed. If I have insurance why would I not use it? Not sure where to go from here, just throughly disappointed.

Very bad experience I order regular glass and safety glass. They took about a month to come in and when I got the them it was a different frame from the one I ordered and I order the transaction gray but the glass didn't have that and I told the lady at front desk she said she can reorder for the transaction but that was the frame I ordered I know it wasn't and then my safety glass is to tight on my face can't even wear them and the lady said she won't rejust them that they will loosen up in two week but I can't wear them now so I'm back to wearing my old pair of glass very nasty attitude with from the lady at front desk

At first I enjoyed this eye doctor, and disregarded the rumors that the receptionists weren't very nice since I liked Dr. Jordan. Unfortunately, when I came in the other day for a contact lense consultation follow up, I described an issue I was having and Dr. Jordan did not give me a very satisfactory answer. Later, as I was about to leave the building, I remembered I had to wait for my ride so I sat down by the door where they couldn't see me, so they must have thought I had left. They began gossiping about me and ridiculing me for not knowing anything about my contacts or glasses. Dr.Jordan described the issue I was experiencing and then told the receptionists that it was caused by something totally different than what she had told me. As a brand new contact wearer, I would really have liked her honest opinion of what I needed to do differently. Overall, they were very unprofessional, and I will be going somewhere else in the future where I can trust to get an honest answer to my questions.

The staff is very nice, however the eye doctor needs more training. I've been wearing contacts for over 25 years, but was a new patient to this clinic and was sent home with contacts that were not the correct strength. I couldn't read signs clearly while driving and was getting a headache from the blurriness. Called the office immediately to let them know the prescription wasn't right and was told to come back and I'd be given pair of lenses with a stronger prescription. I get there and they provide a pair of contacts which I can see on the label are still not the right strength. So I tell the receptionist this is not correct. She tells me that is the prescription they have for me on file and I will need to see the doctor again if I want something different. I have already paid over $250 at this point for an exam and now two pairs of contacts that aren't right. I'm going back to my original eye care provider even though it means driving over an hour. At least I know I'll get the correct prescription when I go there.

Would not return. Had HealthPartners insurance & HealthPartners does not issue a separate eye care card, instead you need to call the member service number on back of the medical card for an authorization code (use this code once a year, not memorized). I informed blondie at the desk of this when i checked in...i had the medical card with me. She proceeded to argue with me & was rude from then on. The other one at the desk followed suit & was also rude, the optometrist was rather standoffish. The prescription wasn't right, they weren't interested in making it right & i was informed in the same frosty manner that i would be charged for any corrections made. A nasty experience from the get go. Don't bother with them, there are many others much more professional, competent and concerned with making certain you get what you need.
