I went to pick up my glasses with Jacky and what wonderful service I received! She gave me extra information and I appreciated that. Her service and attention were excellent.
I went here before moving away for work, and wanted to use my insurance to get a backup supply of contacts. After having the same prescription for 8 years (-2.5) suddenly, my new prescription was suddenly -1.25? After arguing with a sales woman, who was adamant eyes can just dramatically improve with no noticable difference while wearing an old prescription, I took my trial contacts and left. Obviously within hours it was obvious they did not work. I called back the following day and was told (by a technician) to come in at any time for a recheck. When I walk in, the same sales woman from before starts to berate me that I need an appointment (only for rechecks of course), even though I was specifically told to walk in (which of course she denied ever happening, even though she didn't take the call). I get an updated prescription closer to accurate, but still not quite right. Of course I'm told there's a deal on glasses, and I figured how bad could it be? Now I have a pair of glasses that are nowhere near accurate, and actively give me double vision when I take them off. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the technicians, though not the best at their jobs, were very pleasant, professional, and apologetic. I really wish I remembered the name of the older sales woman that I dealt with both days, but I'm well beyond going back to this place to get anything corrected again.
Once my lenses arrive and I have them put in my frames, I will NOT be returning to this store. I do not recommend this store especially if you use mobility aids like me. The staff had almost no idea who was doing what and when. They upsell EVERY DAMN THING UNDER THE SUN at this place. I would give a - review if I could. The person who I believe is the "MANAGER" at this location is just all around abrasive..
1.) No greeting upon entering.
2.) No help finding or choosing frames at all.
3.) Had a scheduled eye exam that I was on time for and they were 30 minutes behind on.
4.) Upsell upsell upsell
5.) Staff needs better training immediately
6.) DO BETTER FOR PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY AIDS.
I like so many in these reviews, gave me insurance when making my appointment, I was told they accept my insurance. I was slao told, as is also on their website, that they could make progressive glasses in the store. Get to the exam, I'm told my insurance is out of network and they don't make progressive glasses in the store. I'd broken my glasses and was really struggling to see. I was told they had a special for $79, they would make one pair for distance and one pair for reading. I agreed as I needed to see. They charged my card, then told me they didn't have lenses strong enough to fill the prescription. I said credit my card and I'll go somewhere else. I was told there was no one in the store who could do a credit on the CC machine. I said you're all trained to take money but not give a credit when you promis a product and don't have it? Sounds like theft or deceptive practice to me. It's three days later and still no refund. DO NOT GO TO THIS PROVIDER
I went to Stanton optical Oct 14 for a scheduled eye exam and lens. I brought my own brand new frames with me. As I was being walked back, I was informed that there is no eye doctor on site. They said they send everything to an eye doctor in Milwaukee and within a few minutes get an eye prescription back. I didn't feel very highly on there not being an eye doctor but my current glasses were literally falling apart and held together by super glue so decided to just have the exam, get lens and be done with it. After the exam, the lady was able to rope me into paying for anti-glare and told me my glasses would be in in 2 weeks. She was pretty convincing the anti-glare worked great at night so I decided to keep super gluing my current glasses back together for the 2 weeks I'd take to get my frames with the lens I bought back. Fast forward to Oct 31 (over 2 weeks from the promised 2 weeks), I called the number listed on Google to ask if my glasses were in. When you call that number, you're talking to a cooperate office somewhere and NOT the actual store. I was told they were and that I could head to the store to get them...so I drove the 45 minutes to get them. When I got there, I gave my name twice. The sales manager went to 2 different baskets and could not find my glasses. He asked for my name again while on the computer and then my phone number. He then went to a 3rd basket where my glasses were not and told me that my glasses were not there. He proceed to tell me they have been having problems with the lab and UPS and didnt have any idea when my glasses would be there. He claimed they were at the lab getting the lens. Had they been at the lab, cooperate wouldn't have told me they were ready for pick-up. Had they been not been ready for pick-up the computer clearly wouldn't have said they were there (him going to the 3rd basket verified they were "there"). At this point, I need glasses, Ive already pushed my limits with current glasses for the 2 weeks. At this point I ask for my $162 and some change that I paid for the lens. The "sales manager" would not refund all of my money. Because I was returning the lens I never got, they were then charging me $79 for an eye exam THAT WASN'T EVEN DONE BY AN EYE DOCTOR. The refund....supposedly is going to come in the mail in 4-6 WEEKS as it's issued by cooperate. I paid cash on the 14th when I ordered them. After 2.5 weeks, I have no money back in my hand, no frames that I gave them and quite frankly a bogus eye exam that after reading other reviews (to late, I know) I can't even be sure that the lens I paid for would have been the correct prescription. I do NOT recommend Stanton Optical for absolutely nothing.
Worst place to go for eyeglasses! I purchased my eyeglasses (2) pair less than 6 months ago! Both lenses cracked at top above the nose piece! Obviously a defect in the lenses or incorrect fit for frames! Was told that there is nothing they can do! Lenses only have a 30 day guarantee! Will NEVER go there for eyeglasses
"UPDATE " After writing the above review I was contacted by Stanton Optical and was informed that they were going to replace the lenses and would put in the order and would notify me when they came in!
Well it's now been over 2 months and I have called the Store several times and keep getting the same answer when I ask if they have received the new lenses! The store manager says that the lenses are still being processed and are at ?
WARNING! All I can say is if you are needing new glasses go to a reputable Optical Business that has a reputable reputation! Read the Google reviews on Stanton Optical Business! Clearly states that they only have 2.5 star ratings out of over 10,000 reviews!

I don't know where they got their high ratings from. When I went to get an exam for contact lenses, there was NO ON-SITE DOCTOR there at all and a young girl who was still in college did my exam. Well, when the off-site doctor sent the prescription over, it was WEAKER than my current prescription. As I was there, I told that girl and the guy who was checking me out that it was odd they would give me a weaker prescription. They also never asked me what my previous prescription was during the exam. My eyesight didn't suddenly get better. The guy said that it varies on the daily, how your eye sees. So I went home, tried out the free trial contact lenses they gave me and to no surprise, it was worse than my previous contact lenses. I realized just how bad it was when I was driving with my husband who has 20/20 vision and he could read all the road signs from quite a ways away while all I saw was blur from that distance.
I tried calling them a few times and by the time I was able to really speak with someone about it, they said it was past the 30 days and I'm no longer able to get rechecked. So I literally just paid over $100 to get a prescription that was incorrect and useless to me and they won't do anything about it.
Update:
They have reached out to me to schedule a recheck. Will update again afterwards.
Professional, confident, knowledgeable, and super friendly.
Would've liked to have an on site doctor but I do feel confident in knowing they have communication with a licensed Dr. in Milwaukee.
Not all Doctors are on site!
