America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

Less than four months after purchasing glasses the lens fell out of a pair and chipped when it hit the floor in a store. Now the local Dothan store, where they were purchased, is refusing to replace it. They have acknowledged to their 800 customer service number that the screws backed out of the frames allowing the lens to fall out, and went so far as to say they will order new frames, but will not replace the broken lens. Mind you, the broken lens was a result of the defective frames. Make it make sense?! The worker at the store put the chipped lens back in the frame and said everything was tight and good to go (except the big chip in the lens). Less than 45 minutes later the lens fell out in the car while riding as a passenger. Based on my experience thus far with this store and company, RUN! Do not waste your money here. They do not stand behind their products if you have a problem. I purchased both pair 10/13/25, and the manager said only one pair was covered under warranty. She stated the pair that has the issue was paid under my insurance. What does that even have to do with anything?? You were paid for products, and as a business, you stand behind what you sell, especially when damage is caused due to a defect. I have escalated this to their customer service 800 management, but am not holding out much hope for a satisfactory resolution. If they do the right thing I will update this review.

Waiting time for doctor to see you is absolutely RIDICULOUS!! You'll be seen an hour to two hours pass your appointment time . Doctor moves slower than a snail. Retire him. Lady's at the front very nice , helpful so 1 star .

Don't even deserve 1 star. We scheduled an appointment over a month before, and then the day of they cancelled 30 minutes before the appointment time. I even told them that it was urgent as my husband had broken his only pair of glasses and he is the only driver in the house and needed new ones urgently. Then they tried to schedule us for another appointment another month away. Went somewhere else and got him glasses cheaper and faster with much better professionalism. I used to recommend AB because I got my glasses at another location that was amazing, but after this I won't be going back. They've lost our business.

Do not recommend. Waited an hour and a half after my appointment to be seen. The optometrist kept coughing in my face, was unfriendly and seemed to be in a bad mood in general. It took over three weeks for my glasses to come in. I had to keep calling, final call they told me they had come in days ago but I never got a notice. When I picked them up they messed up the prescription and kept telling me I'd have to pay for another eye exam because the glasses were right. After some convincing they looked into my file and realized it was wrong. Took another two and a half weeks for glasses to come back. Guess what they still had problems. The lenses didn't fit the frames and were sticking out at the top. They worked with them in store for fifteen minutes and got them fixed. The majority of the staff is rude and unprofessional. I will not be using them again.

I had an appointment and had to wait a while past it to be seen but the doctor and his assistant were both thorough and professional. Another local business messed my prescription up the year before but America's Best got it right so I can see again! The staff who helped me with my glasses were also professional and friendly. I had an issue later with one of the legs falling off my glasses constantly and they put a new screw in and fixed it for me immediately with no extra charge. I recommended them to my daughter when she needed new glasses and will definitely return here again myself when I need new ones. They have both lower cost glasses and name brand ones. Great selection!

I started going back to America's Best and Dr Jenkins once I found out they take my insurance. It was the best decision because America's Best is just what I need. Dr Jenkins is a wonderful doctor and a professional man. Also, everyone on his team today was friendly and professional as well. I found a nice pair of Ray-Bans that I liked today and the only thing that I had to pay was the tax. I didn't have the best experience with my previous provider because I felt like they were helping themselves to my wallet. I didn't like that, and changed to Dr Jenkins. America's Best was everything I needed and nothing I didn't. Dr Jenkins and his team provided me with a wonderful experience today, and I look forward to going back to pick up my new glasses soon. I am also looking forward to next year's glasses because there were so many wonderful frames at great prices, and it was hard to pick out just one. Thank You Dr Jenkins and your Team for the excellent experience today. Your office was nice and clean and I've never seen a cleaner bathroom in my life. Dr Jenkins' office was also super-duper clean, with a place for everything and everything in its place. This is the man to see for glasses and contacts... I recommend them 100% and proudly give them 5 Stars. I also wanted to thank Antonio for helping me today too. He rang me up and ordered my glasses at the end and he was very nice and professional and had the best hair, and I was absolutely delighted when he told me my total today. I went next door and bought myself a self-help book with the money I saved at America's Best. I was delighted today, and I'm certain you'll be too.

I have been a patient of Dr. Jenkins and America's Best for many years. However, today they went above and beyond what was necessary or expected. After an incident where my glasses were damaged due to my own fault, I did not think there was hope of repair. I took my chances though and rushed in to see if a miracle could be done. Not only did they work a miracle and repair my glasses back to perfection, the young lady working on them did not stop until she did. This took her at least an hour. I was so ecstatic that I had to give her a hug. I wish I had gotten her name, but I was so excited that I completely forgot to ask. I cannot recommend them enough! Thank y'all!!!!!

Son bought glasses 4 months ago and the frame broke at spot welded area while cleaning them. Told him if he didn't purchase a warranty they would not replace frames even though their website says 1 yr warranty. Told him he applied too much pressure while cleaning them or he doesn't take his glasses off with 2 hands (who in the hell takes glasses off with 2 hands?). A lot of excuses to not support their 1 year warranty that is posted on their website. He's had other glasses and never had this problem before. Cheap glasses and the worst customer service. Go someplace else. This place is a joke.
