A few years ago, I was misdiagnosed by a different provider as only needing glasses. Thank God I got a second opinion. Dr. Ramsey at Maynor and Mitchell in Guntersville saved my eyesight. I had serous fluid in my eyes that was pressing on my optic nerve and had partially detached my retinas from chronic prednisone use for a different medical condition. I was legally too blind to be driving. It was affecting my ability to work (I work in healthcare) because I could not read medication vials. Thanks to Dr. Ramsey's aggressive treatment and immediate referral to a retina specialist, I can see and I can still practice medicine. I won't go anywhere else for my eye care and I refer everyone I know to Maynor and Mitchell.

If I could leave less of a star I would the staff, doctors and techs treated my 89 year old grandmother like a toddler. If you are still planning on going to a eye doctor do not go here. They are inhuman.

I saw Dr. Salter for a checkup after having cataract surgery at a facility in Gadsden several years ago. The wait was not long and the Dr. and staff were professional and kind.

Dr Scott diagnosed me with a hereditary eye disease after 2 other eye doctors missed it.

Went for an emergency exam and they turned me away.

I was grieved to find out this place is a Cataract Mill AFTER I had cataract surgery in both eyes and developed complications. At that point I got the Bum's Rush - and neither Dr./Surgeon was willing to have an intelligent discussion with me. Instead, I had to endure them talking to me like I was 5, and telling me to go to my Primary Care Dr. and accept another Laser Procedure - again without clear discussion on potential side effects. If you care about your eyes, find an Opthamologist that specializes in Cataract Surgery and conditions of the eye.
