Wow what a great experience!! From the time we walked in the door everyone was nice and professional! Our scheduled appointment was on time. Dr. Rimbergas was kind and explained everything to my teenage daughter and also acknowledged me. I would recommend this office to my family and friends.
The team is awesome! During the exam I was given all the information to help me make the best decisions for my vision solutions that fit my lifestyle. I was assisted through every step and felt like a priority the whole time. From scheduling the appointment, to ordering contacts and glasses, through to communication when your order comes in. They are friendly and punctual. I'll be going back for sure. They also have a great selection of frames to choose from according to my wife. I just had my eyes dilated so I didn't see the frames as clearly as her. Because of my experience, my wife is scheduled to get her eyes taken care of for the first time in about 17 years. I would say they gave a great overall experience. Cute picture of our son just because
The staff is always so amazing with my kiddos. Marina in particular is great with them, she always takes the extra time to explain what is happening or how something works. Even though we will miss Dr. Daynes, Dr. Rimbergas is equally awesome.
From the reception area to the tech, to the doc, everyone was absolutely wonderful. So professional, so friendly, so caring! I made my husband make an appointment right then & there, & I'll b using them annually. Can't recommend them enough!
The clinic manager is amazing, I was very pleased with the Doctor, she is kind and caring. The front staff was incredible, very nice, polite, and always with a smile!! Medical assistants were wonderful!! Thank you
This is going to be my last followup to this review. Anyone that has been keeping up knows that I had been experiencing issues with quality control regarding lenses since October of 2025.
So what's changed? I finally received a few pairs that are functional.
It was a process that spanned many months. We were playing lense roulette for a while. What it had boiled down to was me having to work back and forth to re order lenses as needed because the labs are struggling with the most basic of things. The staff here are fine, where things are failing are the labs. As the months have gone by I took time to pull the names of the labs and the 2 they use are known for extended wait times and an excess of defects. The first lab has a defect rate of 52 percent and the other one has a defect rate of 48 percent. Extremely high for what it is. The issue both appear to be having is that while they are great at making basic lenses they struggle with compound prescriptions often getting debris as well as scratches and fingerprints trapped between the coats. This has been an issue for a while now. They also appear to have problems following instructions, forgetting to apply rock coat, forgetting to make the lenses a set of transitions, ect.
After a while I found myself dodging the labs and shopping around. The issue is that Sierra Vista is a small town. We have 3 main players here that provide care. We have Daynes, Cochise eye and Laser, and Nationwide Vision. Daynes has great staff that I can tell are irritated with things and lense issues. Cochise has lense issues and a rather disrespectful staff. Both use the same labs with the same issues, both are owned by the same conglomerate when you check. Nationwide vision has similar issues just way less pronounced.
So what does this mean? It means that since the area is largely monopolized you are going to struggle a fair bit with everything. It's not your fault, it's not even the fault of the staff. It's just management going with the cheapest option with disastrous results. So, what do you do? Well, realize that there's a good possibility that you may have issues with defects. It's important to be kind to the staff as well as they don't have control over the labs. This is a management issue. New labs need to be selected and I don't really see anything getting better without intervention. These are the kinds of issues that kill companies. I saw the journey to it's end while everyone I know moved on. I'm stubborn like that. It took 5 months and numerous pairs being made but I'm finally there. Sierra vista needs a bit of reform. As long as there's a Monopoly here, care will not improve. I love the location and I recommend the staff highly. However, I don't recommend the labs or managements ability to lead and solve ongoing issues. When the labs show an excess of dysfunction it's time for new labs, when management thinks the labs are fine and fails to understand that you need to spend money to deliver quality to make money, it's time for new management. It often results with frustrated staff and disillusioned patients with no end in site. The staff gets an A. Management and the labs get a D.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. I think the new doctor is a good choice for this community. Happy retirement Dr Daynes! Carla is always awesome and accommodating. Keep up the good work.
Edit to add. Mari at Daynes reached out, explained the technical issues they were having that evening and admitted ignoring a customer at the door was unprofessional and apologized for it. Went in today to pick up my daughter's glasses all the staff were super friendly and helpful (the same treatment we've always received).
Also edit to add, both google and their Facebook page say they are closed today, Mari and the rest of the staff did not know why that was posted and also apologized for the confusion and frustration that brought with it.
Super unprofessional business. I received a notification my daughter's glasses were ready 20 minutes before closing. Showed up several minutes before closing as they were locking the door. The people inside just stood inside and stared at me as I knocked on the door, again before 5 (their posted closing time). We only needed to pick up glasses that were already paid for, after several moments, the staff staring at me just ducked into the back room.
I just wanted to pick up my daughter's glasses before we leave town for the holidays. Would have taken less than 5 minutes. The friendly appearing staff, is apparently just a front seeing as even during the holidays, they can't even keep the doors open until the posted closing time.
