I scheduled about 6 months in advanced and still wasn't seen at my appointment time. It was an hour and 20 minutes after apt time that I left. As a provider I also have appointments to attend to and feel my time needs to be respected as well. So many people were in the lobby, it appears they over schedule appointments with the assumption that you can just wait for the doctor.
I like the doctor but if you can't get in to see him in a timely manner, it's a problem. If you tell me up front it's going to be late I could have rescheduled my other appointment, but wasn't given that courtesy.
