Hertzog Family Eye Care

Drove all the way from West Little Rock for an eye appointment, that I have waited on for 3 months, and they claim they have to reschedule me when she could have let me know they were going to reschedule me over the phone. this place is ridiculous. they lied about a 15minute grace period after I called and told them I had a flat tire and would be a little late.

Let me start by saying the doctor is not a bad doctor but as far as the service at this place terrible I bought a $350 pair of sunglasses lenses was told when I bought them multiple times that there is a two-year warranty on them guess what we're less than two years and now they're telling me they were wrong there's no warranty. Nothing We can do. So shop around because even their people working selling the glasses don't know what their warranties are!

After going to a few different eye care clinics and being unsatisfied, I found my way to Dr. Hertzog about five years ago. I will never go to anyone else. The staff is friendly, they explain the different parts of the exam, and they allow you to opt out of anything they think your insurance may not cover. Dr. James likes to keep you engaged during his examination and will thoroughly explain his findings. Great place!

I absolutely love the staff! I've been going to them for over a year now and recommend anyone that's looking for a friendly staff and a great eye doctor to go there. The people at the front desk are always kind when checking us in. Technicians help us look for our glasses and make sure it's the perfect fit for our faces. Dr. Charity is sweet...very knowledgeable about eye care and straightforward about treatment of your eyes. Thanks ladies and keep up the GREAT work!!

I have been wearing glasses for over 25 years. Only experience I have had is go in and see the Dr. You may tell him some of what bothers you or you may just get your eyes checked. Not here at Hertzog. Met 4 different employees before I saw the Dr. Questions were ask and all written down with different types of checks on my eyes. In 15 minutes I saw the Dr. and he had all kinds of things about my eyes he ask about. This was the best exam and the most professional and courteous experience yet. I highly recommend this Family eye care office to everyone.

Dr. Hertzog and his staff are wonderful people. I trust his clinic with my family and friends. I also grew up in Cabot with Dr. Hertzog and his family. I have always known them to give back to this community in many different ways. Give Dr. Hertzog and his clinic a chance and you will be as satisfied with their services as my family.

I am a librarian...so, I sometimes compare life experiences to quotes from books. In this case, I will compare my experience at Hertzog Family Eye Care with Lilly's experience in Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse (Henkes) when she says, "WOW! That is just about all I can say, WOW!!!" If you are wondering whether or not these reviews are read by anyone...YES...they are! When I walked into the clinic for my second visit, I simply said my name and appointment time and nearly everyone in the clinic immediately came out to thank me for my last review! Dr. J. Hertzog listened carefully as I told him about my experience with my trial contact lenses. He decided to look at my eyes again and immediately found a situation that we needed to address. I appreciated him HEARING and listening to my report that the lenses were uncomfortable and responding so efficiently. Then, he put me in Juli's care for contact lens and glasses ordering. She impressed me by noticing that although my first name is on my folder, I had noted that I use my middle name. It is RARE that anyone notices that and uses the correct name consistently. Juli let me try on MANY glasses to be sure I found the one that was right for me. Instead of just looking at the color chart to order my contact lenses, she let me put them in my eyes to see how I liked the look. Even though it was the end of the day, she did not act rushed. She gave me a rebate offer and a clear explanation of how I should redeem it. I left with all necessary paperwork to get a discount on my prescription and a rebate for my contacts...I didn't even have to make an extra copy of anything. THIS is the place for family eye care...this will be an experience unlike most other medical offices you visit!!!

Consistently bad. The exam: chair and refractor were unclean. I had to ask the optometrist to clean the lenses of the refractor because they had skin oil on them and I couldn't see through it clearly. The opticians are the worst, however. My wife and son both got their glasses from Hertzog and each time they came home with crooked and uncomfortable frames because of improper adjustment or no adjustment at all. Today was the last straw for me... my son's glasses needed a warranty replacement because one of the arms broke. Instead of my wife going, I decided to take my son to pick up his glasses. The experienced optician (not the new one who was shadowing someone) had my son put his glasses on and look down--they did not fall off. She then proceeded to walk away. I asked her to stop and adjust his glasses. My son's glasses were VERY crooked, the hooks of the legs were not adjusted, and the legs were being pushed outward from being too tight--which, of course, applied unnecessary pressure to the springs that had already failed once because of this. Three times I had to send this optician back to get his glasses adjusted correctly. In the end, his glasses looked good; but, only after much frustration on my part and not because of any initiative from the optician. Hertzog will never again get my business, my family's business, and I will communicate as much to anyone else who asks.
