This review is for whoever is responsible for scheduling patient appointments. We paid over $350 (without insurance, it would have been $650) for a visit that lasted only five minutes, after waiting more than an hour in the waiting room--only to find out the doctor could not examine my 3-year-old child. We still get a bill later for just "visiting the office"
When I scheduled the appointment, I specifically confirmed that the eye doctor would be able to see my child given her age. I hate long waits, which is why I made sure in advance that this doctor could examine young children. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was very frustrated but had to leave because my child was in pain due to her eye. Be cautious and double-check when making an appointment here.
I had great experience with Dr. Bert. He is highly skilled, professional and truly cares about his patients. He did my cataract surgery and everything went well. The entire staff is very professional and helpful. I especially want to thank Carlee for her patience and assistance - highly recommend Dr. Bert and his team.
I was referred to Dr. Bert for eye dryness. His staff was so kind and helpful. His assistant was so nice and took her time to ask me questions and explain what the next steps were for the appointment. Dr. Bert came into the room and he was nice, great bedside manner, and reviewed my chart. He examined me while explaining everything he was doing. I have seen 3 other doctors about this problem, and he was the one who truly prescribed the right regimen I'm doing so much better. Thank you, Dr. Bert!!!
My first visit was okay, I met doctor Bret he is the best so far than any eye doctor that I've seen o would rate him 5 stars but not for receptionists they are bad. Lack of empathy, first of all whenever I tried to call make appointment and when I try to call there's no one pick up the calls. They are 3 of them some time. I saw them just talking when I was there. One day I wanted to see doctor Bret for one more consultation before I decided for surgery , so I talked to the reception on the phone when I set the appointment that I want to have consultation with doctor Bret. And the day when I had to see doctor on my way I tried to call them that I will be 10 minutes late due to traffic. I left home an hour from where I live normally 35 minutes to be there but because of traffic plus my charger didn't work, so one of those day. And by the time I get there the reception said oh your appointment is for surgery, and I said no I wanted to consult with doctor. But any way you are late. So I was so disappointed. My points here was since day one I visit this place the receptionists are not very nice. Until the last day I came that because I was late, I know I shouldn't but at least she try to be nice and says nicely. Answer call please! Understand what customer need please!
I like doctor Bret just his staffs are bad!
THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!! I tried calling to make an appointment and I when I talked to the receptionist I had the worst experience; her name is "Melissa" she was condescending, argumentative, lacked empathy, and overall rude. She ended up getting upset with me for simply advocating for myself and began calling me names before saying she would have her manager "Chris" deal with me. I NEVER received a call so I followed up as my reason for needing to be seen was urgent and once again I was told that the manager would call me. 2 1/2 hours later I got a call from a receptionist (also named "Chris") relaying in a cold tone a vague message from "Chris Araya" (the manager) stating that "I can go somewhere else if I want to be seen." I asked if they would transfer me to him so I can actually talk to him and they refused and then hung up on me. Terrible service, terrible people, I would advise anyone wanting ethical care to go anywhere other than here.
I came here after making sure that my insurance covers the office visit for my kids. After verifying the insurance information, the receptionist informed me that my insurance is covered and I only need to pay a copay. During the office visit, a refraction was recommended, for an additional charged. I decided to pay this extra charge for refraction out of pocket and finished up the office visit.
Seven months later, I get a bill for $965. I called billing and they said that they'd look into it, which another bill came and the $965 was reduced to $445. I called again and questioned why am I getting a bill when initially I was told I only needed to pay copay (and then the refraction out of pocket). They then told me they were going to look into it, which then resulted in me getting another bill for $1291. I came in for an office visit. Anything done outside of what is covered SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISCLOSED, such as the refraction. WHY AM I GETTING BILLS NOW? And not to mention, INCONSISTENT billing amounts. This is ridiculous. Billing team can't help, sent me to their lead who calls from a private number without a callback. I missed the call, called back billing again and all they can do is email the lead again where I've been waiting 5 days without a callback.
I visited Doheny Eye Center recently to see Dr.Bert about an eye problem. He did his eye exam, thoroughly, and explained in lay language exactly what was wrong and needed to be done. I recommend him highly as a Top Doc. In addition, the entire office staff was helpful, to the point that when I called Doheny recently, the staff person was quick to answer my question. Thank you, Doheny!
Great service but they have a strict late policy for 15 minutes for patients. They will not take patients if late by 15 minutes. There is no late policy for Doctors if the doctors are late and patients have to wait.
