Dr. Hanneken is that exquisite specialist that one never expects to be able to find. She has worked with me for several years. I was first referred to her for macular degeneration and in several sessions it was healed. I have been working with her since to maintain my vision. She is personable and so knowledgeable. She is doing research in the field and is always aware of the latest information. It is a delight to have her as my physician.

Dr Hanneken is a very professional, knowlegeable, experienced, honest and speakly clearly and directly.
She is very detailed in her diagnostic analysis, and desires to help each patient. She will go beyond the normal expectation of most patients.
She could not address my eye issue but very quickly referred me to a specific eye specialist. She even called this Doctor and explained my specific medical issue, and referred me to them. She then followed up with me. She has a great demeanor and takes great care with each patient.

Life gives you lemons...after a pretty severe stroke in my eye Dr. Hanneken has helped me get back to my life. She has never "sugar coated" my prognosis, but all her treatments have helped me feel confident about getting the best out of the vision I still have. Dr. Anne M Hanneken was born in Wisconsin and attended Marquette University as a chemistry major. During college, she was best known for playing competitive tennis on the Men's Intercollegiate Tennis Team and simultaneously starting the Women's Athletic Program. Subsequently, she attended The Medical College of Wisconsin and was awarded a research internship to study at Harvard Medical School in the laboratory of Dr. Judah Folkman, whose research in angiogenesis revolutionized the treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Hanneken attended the world-renown Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital for her Ophthalmology residency and completed a two-year fellowship with the father of vitreoretinal surgery.
