Gordon Schanzlin New Vision Institute

I had the LAL cataract surgery. It seemed pricey but I certainly got my monies worth and more. I had a previous RK, and an astigmatism. Every person working there has the demeanor of truly caring for the patients. Dr. Gordon is charming, competent and very professional. He instills utmost confidence. Katy at the surgery desk is efficient and caring. Julio instills calm and confidence. Dr. Kasai not only performed my adjustments, but doctored me through a serious bout of dry eye. Without her care, my results would not have been what they were. My vision is 20/20. I need glasses for nothing. I highly recommend this practice.

I called Gordon Schanzlin New Vision Institute about 30 minutes before closing with a corneal abrasion. The office staff was exceptionally professional and kind and accommodated me, especially Rose, who quickly took my history and got me in. Dr. Echegoyen examined my eye, clearly explained the treatment plan, and prescribed the necessary medication. I am so grateful for their care and highly reccomend this clinic.

I went to this office for my dry eyes. I was impressed with the customer service provided from the moment I walked through the front door. Liv and Grayson at the front desk greeted all patients with a smile and were very efficient in their duties. I saw Wendy Jones, OD, who was professional, knowledgeable and explained what was going on with my dry eyes. Also, my interaction with all staff members in passing was a pleasant experience. I highly recomment this office.

Dr. Julio Echegoyen at Gordon Schanzlin did my cataract and glaucoma surgeries. Excellent experience all around, from Kay who managed my case, the office staff, the technicians, the surgery center, Dr. Echegoyen who performed the surgeries, and Dr. Pennell who did the follow-up adjustments on the Light Adjustable Lens. I have always been highly nearsighted, and it is a miracle that I can function without glasses now, so amazing. Got nervous when insurance inexplicably denied coverage on the second eye, but the folks at Gordon Schanzlin were so helpful in getting that worked out. Highly recommend!

The Gordon Schanzlin Institute is an excellent facility! When I got laser eye surgery done, Dr Michael Gordon and his staff were thorough in answering all of my questions and conducting my eye exam to make sure I that got the best results. My patient coordinator Kay Nicholas was extremely accommodating and helpful when I had to re-schedule several times and was always professional and friendly. I was nervous about getting laser eye surgery, but they helped to allay my fears going into and during the procedure. The actual operation was painless and short, with only mild discomfort following the surgery and immediate results. It's been several months since my surgery, and I'm completely healed and enjoying my new vision. I love that it is one less thing that I have to worry about. I'm extremely happy that I picked the Gordon Schanzlin Institute to get my laser eye surgery!

From the reviews this looked a like a good choice, and they offer a lifetime guarantee on the procedure. I thought that this would be a good choice to fix my mild nearsightedness (about 20/40 one eye and 20/60 in the other). What they do leave out is they only offer the lifetime warranty if you go every year to their optometrist (which insurance may not cover) and they have to recommend you get it done again. If you don't or skip one year they will no longer honor the lifetime warranty. When I had it done (Oct-2017) the procedure went well, and I was very strict to follow their healing instructions. My vision was 20/20 for about 8 months, and then reverted back to the way it was before the surgery. I saw their optometrist, whom said yes the surgery did not work and that I can have it done again, but I should wait a year to let my eyes heal rather than back to back surgeries. I waited a year and saw the optometrist again, his response the second time was that I had age related nearsightedness that is not covered on their lifetime warranty. It was a bit disappointing to spend such a substantial amount of money, but end up with the same vision as I had from the before the surgery. I never felt like writing a review, but yesterday I spent the afternoon shopping for new glasses and felt the need to write one since I spent a lot of money and risk to my eyes but resulted in no improvement.
