GW Eye Associates

I usually don't write reviews, but I wanted to share my recent experience at this optical store. I came here because of the high Google ratings and because they carry a frame brand I really like. Even though the store didn't have many options from this brand, I found a specific model I loved. Since the frame was not available anywhere in the U.S., the staff helped me place a special order from Germany in October, and I was told it would arrive in early December. I completely understood the wait and appreciated their help. A couple of weeks later, in mid-November, the brand representative visited the store. Unfortunately, they didn't bring the model I wanted to try, but again I understood--shipping from Europe takes time, especially before Thanksgiving. So I placed all my hope on the December arrival. Yesterday, I was excited to receive a call that the frame had arrived, and I was booked for a 9 a.m. appointment today. After waiting for about a month and a half, I showed up full of anticipation--only to open the box and realize it was the wrong model. While mistakes happen, what truly disappointed me was the interaction with one of the male staff members. He told me that if I wanted to reorder the correct frame, it would take another 3-4 weeks. I explained that the brand representative had shown me the original order, and it was definitely the correct model. So I asked if he could please double-check whether my actual frame had shipped. Thankfully, after checking, he confirmed that the correct frame had not arrived yet and that the one they called me in for was not meant for me. However, during the whole conversation, he never apologized for calling me in for the wrong frame. When I asked if he could help confirm the model I wanted to order, he responded with, "I order this frame brand so many times. I already know what you need. Is there anything else I can help with?" The tone felt dismissive, almost as if I was causing trouble for asking reasonable questions after waiting so long. Most reviews say this store provides excellent customer service, and that was one of the reasons I chose to come here. I guess I was just the unlucky one this time. I truly hope my experience was an exception, but I still wanted to share it so others know what to expect.

I had THE BEST Experience at GW Eye Associates. Absolutely everyone from the front desk(sorry I can't remember your names!!!), Dr. Daod, and esp. LEO!!! are amazing. The exam was thorough and not rushed. I had plenty of time to ask questions and discuss my concerns. After the exam, I worked with Leo, who is AMAZING, to find the cutest cat eye frames EVER! He has a great eye for what looks good on a person and steered me toward something fun that I will enjoy wearing. Thank you GW Eye Associates for an amazing experience.

Dr. Gordon and his team at GW Eye Associates are exceptional. After years of searching for the right eye care provider, I finally found a practice that combines expertise, attentive care, and helpful guidance. Whether it's glasses, contacts, or treatment for a ruptured vessel, they've consistently provided outstanding service and clear, informative support. I needed to find a new place to help me with my Lindberg frames (and eventually refill my lens prescriptions) and the folks at GW Eye Associates were absolutely wonderful. They helped me immediately and were very cheerful and easy to get to. I've definitely found a new shop!

Dr Wong and team is amazing and offer great explanation to my eye prescription and problems. I got my lenses from here and Dr Wong worked with me to figure out the best lens after multiple round of trials and patiently finding the right fit. They even worked me to get replacement lens for my specs as it got scratches ( informed they r under warranty). Also their dog Chloe is the best!!!!!

Never stepping foot there again. I went to see Dr Wong to update my prescription and buy two new frames on sept 6th. Everything was ultra expensive as usual. When one if the frames were ready almost 3 weeks later the prescription was wrong. I sent the glasses back and it took until now (december!) to get the glasses back. Nobody called me to update, or explain. When I asked for a refund they denied. And guess what? The prescription is still not great. I do not recommend. Lots of frills, and bad optometry as well as customer service. I will not be returning.

Insist on an UPFRONT WRITTEN ESTIMATE with these folks. Good optometry services EXCEPT Dr. Wong consistently RENEGES on his VERBAL PRICE ESTIMATES with me. I'm told the bill is paid in full then each time, I later get an invoice with an extra "MYSTERY" charge. There's no breakdown, no explanation, no code for the extra charges. The office manager said she can NOT explain them, and said no one is available to explain them. Because there's no explanation, it's impossible to tell if you're being double billed, or being billed for a service not provided, or if they're reneging on a discount. The amounts vary widely, and I pay for the services myself upfront so there is NO INSURANCE involved.

I couldn't have had a better overall experience at GW Eye Associates! Dr. Wong and staff couldn't have been any more professional and attentive! I received my new pair of glasses way sooner than expected and Katie made sure they fit me perfectly prior to leaving. My new glasses look great and the prescription is spot on. I couldn't recommend GW Eye Associates more highly. Dr. Wong and his team will take great care of you!
