This place is amazing! I'm used to eyecare chains that are understaffed and inexperienced. This place is a very well-run and experienced independent shop, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who have been here for years. For my OD, I had Dr. Gentile. He was very thorough and patient. He meticulously measured my vision and answered all of the questions I had in an easy-to-understand way. I also want to highly recommend Miguel, who is an invaluable part of the store. He has extraordinary experience with the comfort and fitment of many frames, helping you quickly identify ones that work for you. He has deep knowledge of how insurance works with the frames and lenses, and actively tries to help you maximize your dollars spent. He is also super meticulous and skilled in getting just the right measurements (like pupillary distance and lens height) and has the tools to modify your frames once they arrive to fit your exact facial contours. I've worn glasses my whole life and have never had glasses that fit my face like an expertly tailored suit. Can't speak highly enough of Miguel. One last pro-tip - La Jolla EyeCare offers a range of "premium" eye diagnostics which are in addition to your exam fee and likely not covered by vision insurance (if you have one) - this is pretty typical across eye clinics. It could be a little surprising to be presented with options that cost more than the exam itself. My recommendation is that waive them all and consult with the OD before opting into paying for additional diagnostics. Anyways give La Jolla EyeCare a visit! Highly recommended.

I had an "eyeglass emergency" and James was super helpful! He spent time and very carefully adjusted my glasses. Frankly I think they are a better fit than when I got them originally! Thank you so much for your help!

When I placed the order, paying the full amount as required, I was informed it would take 2 weeks due to my insurance (VSP). Three weeks later, I called to ask about the status of my order. In response, I was "mansplained" that orders like mine can take longer. Not a hint of an apology. I will not go back.

The office staff and level is service is fine, not overly warm and friendly, but get the job done. I will say the woman who does the initial measurements and eye testing prior to seeing the doctor is the reason I haven't left sooner. She is wonderful. The doctor is very knowledgeable and helpful. My biggest concern and reason for the rating has to do with the cleanliness of the office. A few weeks ago, I came in and noticed a pile of hair and dirt between the waiting room chairs. I notified the front desk staff immediately and was assured it would be addressed. I came a few weeks later to get my glasses fitted and it was still there! Nothing had been cleaned. I noticed during the exam the eye testing equipment bases and a layer of dust on the arms and legs too. Especially during COVID, the cleanliness was bothersome but would be even prior to COVID. The office is not that large to not have someone paying attention to this level of detail. We will be looking for a new office moving forward.

The only place you need to get your glasses repaired or fixed. Awesome service from James! He goes above and beyond to fix my glasses for me - free of charge.

I had an eye exam here, and the team is excellent! Very attentive, caring, specific to your needs, and more. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone.

Doctor Gentile was great, Miguel and Freddy up front were super helpful and courteous. Definitely recommend
