Antelope Valley Eye Care

Very disappointed and frustrated. We specifically went here because we explained how we needed the same frames and only lenses. We were told this would be ok, that we would Only need to pay for the anti-glare on the lenses. So we waited a long time to get an appointment, and lo behold, we get there and we can Only use same lenses if we pay for full price of the lenses. If we use Medicaid to pay for lenses then we have to buy new frames. Either we should not have been told something not true and set us up to fail, or get a phone call to tell us things changed. Either way it should have been in the notes or somehow attached to our appointment of what our needs were. Now it's too late to go somewhere else and we are just going without any new glasses at all. Glad you got paid for the exam, but it was all a waste of time for us to wait for the appointment, pay for a car rental to get there, and miss school for an appointment that did us no good. If you're able to use the frames if we pay for the lenses, logic says you should be able to use same frames for Medicaid lenses.

Dr. Opatowsky and his staff, (especially John) are amazing! They're caring, helpful and very professional. They've done a great job helping me over the years as well as my mom, who has significant eye problems. Thank you Dr. Opatowsky!

I was told this was a "real eye doctors office" because I had gone to Lens Crafters for years. I decided to give them a try. Initially the experience was good. No issues until it came time to pay. Monique somehow managed to run my FSA card, then 43 seconds later she reversed the transaction, this is per my FSA manager who can see when the transactions go through. When I was in the office she did advise me she was having issues running my card. I called to see what was available, confirmed the amount for her so she could run my card and she told me she would check in the morning and call me if there was an issue. Never heard from her. My mistake for trusting anyone to do what they said they would do. Fast forward to picking up my glasses and wow to my surprise I am nearly $750 short. Why...FSA didn't go through. I've called. They blamed my card. I showed up. No resolution. It's 2026. If you know FSA, you know the government takes what's left. Their solution, I file a claim. Which I will do and if I don't get my money. We will all be seeing each other in small claims because I have the backup. All of it.

I have been going to AV EYE CARE for over 20 years, this office is now seeing a 3rd generation of my family come to there office! Dr. O is wonderful and makes sure that all the Doctors in his office are kind, intelligent, and fun! (This matters when you have kids and they get their eyes checked etc.) They always explain everything they are doing and keep it light- hearted but factual. I love this place! The reception area is always clean and the women behind the counter are always friendly. The Opticians are always willing to take the time to make sure you have a perfect fit for lenses/glasses/contacts. Im so thankful that places like this still exist in the AV, it definitely gives a small-town, homey feel to something that can be uncomfortable or scary.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Opatowsky, he is so kind, and very experienced. Everyone I encountered in the office were also kind and so helpful. I'm really happy I found them.

My experience was awesome! The staff at AV Eye care are all friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. Dr O is amazing. I would say he's the best eye doctor/surgeon that I have had the pleasure of seeing. He's very knowledgeable and has an amazing bedside manner. He makes you feel valued and at ease during exams and during my cataract surgery. I would recommend him to anyone needing eye surgery or just eye exams.

1st charged $90.00 for a post op visit. Waited extremely long time. No happy with results of left eye. Will not fix it for free. NOT the way I do my business. How do people live with themselves. Pure greed! I make good on my work, they should too

Waiting room is large and very nice, receptionist is on top of all who sign in and the wait is minimum. The eye exam itself was great and done professionally by a tech. Then the doctor does the final exam. Quick and efficient. Very pleased with my appointment.
