Dr. Babak Shabatian

I took my mother to Dr.Shabatian and was met by very polite and cheerful receptionist. We were called back to the exam room within10 minutes. The technician was extremely professional and polite and explained everything that she was testing to my mom. Shortly after the doctor came in, introduced himself and started to examine my mom's eyes, as well as going over all the data that was compiled by the technician. We found his bedside manner to be very polite and professional, and the whole experience was like going back in time, everyone was just terrific. We were thrilled to death to have found this doctor and would recommend anybody to this facility.

Was referred to a different office by our regular eye exam Dr. and when I called to make an apt. the receptionist was rude and un welcoming. So I went to Google to find another Dr. and came across Dr. Babak Shabatian's office. And due to the good reviews I decided to give them a call. And am I sooo glad I did. From the call of making our first apt. to coming into the office and meeting the dr. Every single person was so kind and helpful. Office is nice and clean. Dr. Babak Shabatian is a great Dr. who has a great staff. He is who I believe I should have been referred to. Again very happy with the decision to come to this office.

My 17-year old daughter has amblyopia, strabismus, and an astigmatism. Due to no insurance for years, she's only been able to see optometrists since she was young and finished patching. We were directed by her PCP to get with an Ophthalmologist to check and ease my daughter's mind that her vision hadn't changed, as well as inquiring about surgery or any help with correcting her lazy eye. We have a PPO so I found a doctor that advertised experience with pediatric amblyopia and made the appointment myself. The staff was amazing, even though we waited about 3 hours to be seen. Dr. Shabatian was a real disappointment. When he came in the room he was stiff and didn't speak to us. He stared at his computer as I asked questions that we had waited years to ask, as well as drove 90 miles, and waited for hours to be seen. Answers were given after a long pause, usually in just one word answers. After asking about surgery, he finally said he was going to do one more test to check the astigmatism. When he returned, I thanked him for his time and explained how we just needed to make sure she was on the right track and her eyes hadn't changed, as well as seeking answers to any type of corrective procedure. He finally turned to even look at us, then said he didn't even know why he was seeing us since there was no problems. He reluctantly gave me a name of a surgeon who does surgery for lazy eyes and we left. I left feeling like we got answers to my questions, but only after I prodded the doctor along. I've done even more research after leaving his office and see that Vision Therapy is a great, better option. But I learned of this with no thanks to this professional. What could have been done better? The doctor could have respected our time and situation, no matter his opinion on the severity of her current situation. We were there, a paying/insured patient, with life impacting questions. If he was confused as to why we were there, he could have looked at us and asked, or even listened to what we were asking. I'm thankful I was with her, to show her how to fight for her health as well as help her understand that this is not the kind of "help" one should have to expect or settle for when having real questions and concerns about your own health.

Dr. Shabatian restored my vision on my left eye to about 20/20 from 20/80. Thank you very very much for the care and all the staffs at Lancaster Eye Institute and Dr. Tran for helping me!

Dr. Shabatian was informative and provided an opportunity to regain my eyesight without glasses now 20/20.Cataract surgery nearly painless.Highly recommended.
