I called this clinic to ask about the cost of cataract surgery for my dad. When I mentioned his insurance, the receptionist immediately said they couldn't accept it. That would have been fine if they were still willing to help or let us pay out of pocket. Instead, they refused to provide any information or assistance. It was clear they were judging us based on the insurance alone, not our ability to pay. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience. If they treat potential patients like this, what should we expect when it comes to the actual procedure? We definitely dodged a bullet.

Dr. Beers and his care team have been nothing but exemplary in their treatment. Eye surgery is scary but the Beers team made the entire process a great experience.

My experience with Dr. Beers and team could not have been better! From my consultation, to actual Lasik surgery date and follow up - they were incredible every step of the way. Dr. Beer's even personally called me a few hours after my surgery to check in. The procedure itself was quick, painless and wildly successful within 4-6 hours I was seeing perfectly. I was in and out in 45 minutes. This experience was life changing and I would recommend this practice with 10 stars if I could. Georgina was comforting, supportive and wonderful & Paul offered a comforting hand hold during the procedure. It truly feels like a family practice and I am truly grateful for their professionalism and their expertise with the technology. My only regret is that I did not do this 15 years ago..

Another eye doctor evaluated my eye 2 months after surgery and felt that the wound from my operation were twice as large as normal; in other words, Dr. Beers could have used better technology, but I guess he was trying to lower his cost? All the nurses and doctors here are nice and calming professionals. Woo hoo! Had my second cataract surgery on my right eye by Dr. Beers. (He didn't look drunk with beers, ha ha) The only pain was 5 seconds Sting from a couple of eye drops and 10 seconds of pressure on my eyeballs during surgery. Other than that, I didn't feel any pain nor discomfort. They applied numbing eye drops, antiseptic, and pressure reducing eye drops. I refused their offer of Valium to calm my nerves. I was already calm by praying - which helped lower my heartbeat to 55 per minute and my blood pressure was 113/79. I asked for minimum sedation as I was already sleepy due to fact that I only slept 6 hours the night before and had to wake up at 6:00 am to go to the operating room at 6.45am. I didn't need correction for astigmatism- so didn't opt for Toric lens. Ps. It helps that I am one of their rare patients that is on no medication as I have no illness nor modern diseases- thanks to my over 35 years of vegetarian/vegan diet and following Seventh-day Adventist health lifestyle.

Dr. Beers is one of the best Ophthalmologist in the bay area. I have been his patient for about 10 years now. He has performed two Lasik procedures on me to improve my reading ability - one eye at a time and the results are absolutely wonderful. I am extremely sensitive about my eyes, I didn't enjoy reading glasses but couldn't risk a Lasik procedure until I found Dr. Beers. He is first off a very nice person, very technical and is very detailed about his analysis. I trust him completely. He is equipped with the latest technologies. I highly recommend Dr. Beers to anyone looking for Lasik procedures. My wife, daughter and some of my neighbors are already his patients. He also has an amazing staff that reflect the same level of care as Dr. Beers. I would like to especially call out his assistant Georgina for her support through these two Lasik procedures.

I called this office to make an appointment for my 86 year old mother who was referred by her primary doctor. The appointment was made at least one week ago and I spoke to a person. I had provided all information they needed including the doctor who referred her. Today, 08-07-2018 she went for appointment and they refused to see her because her insurance was hmo. They were rude, inefficient, and obnoxious. Blaming the other doctor for not providing insurance info while I made the appointment and had spoken to them. Awful service and please avoid going there.

Lots of high tech equipment, but I found Dr. Beer's bedside manner to be somewhat perfunctory. He said that he wouldn't do the procedure I was asking for (no ding on him for that), so I ended up going to another eye doctor and then back to my optometrist for routine care afterwards.

Wonderful care at a follow-up surgery, even including someone specially designated to hold my hand. during the procedure. Couldn't be happier!
