Pacific Eye Care Optometry

Had my glasses break on a work trip to Mountain View. Brought them in, got them fixed quickly and with no charge (or appointment). Everyone was very friendly.

I had an eye exam at Pacific Eye Care Optometry 5 weeks ago due to persistent eye strain, and unfortunately, the experience has been deeply disappointing from start to finish. After the exam, I requested a copy of my updated prescription. Instead, the assistant sent me my old prescription. I followed up to confirm that the glasses were being made with the correct new prescription, and was explicitly assured that they were. When I picked up the glasses, my vision was noticeably off. I raised the issue, but the assistant pretended the prescription was correct. It was only after I requested the lab printout that it became clear the lenses had been made with the old prescription -- despite the prior reassurances. This was not only a frustrating error, but a serious lapse in transparency. To make matters worse, I was then told I would need to pay for a second pair to correct the mistake. Only after further discussion did they agree to remake the glasses at no cost. That was 3 weeks ago, and as of today -- 5 weeks since the exam -- I still have not received the corrected glasses. There has been no update, no apology, and no sense of urgency throughout the process. I initially came to this clinic seeking relief from eye strain. Instead, I've been left without proper vision correction for over a month, with little regard shown for patient care or accountability. I would strongly caution others to approach this clinic with care and double-check every step of the process.

First time here ! Roxanne took care of my initial eye exams - they went smoothly. She was patient and very thorough when it came down to pricing breakdown. I was then seen by Dr. Tran for the rest of the appointment. He was very personable and extremely helpful. He did not rush through the process and even made efforts to explain my photos in detail. I managed to get my prescription and choose my glasses all within the hour. I highly recommend!

Staff are so kind! Thank you so much for going above and beyond. They dialed in the prescription for my astigmatism perfectly. I don't think I've ever seen this clearly. Nice range of stylish glasses including these Rx sunglasses which i love!

Update: The new doctor who took over Dr. Zaum's practice is awesome! He took the time to answer my (many) questions about Lasik surgeries, and was friendly and thorough throughout my exam. Also, I was able to book an appointment much sooner than before; they had availability within a week vs in the next couple months. Original: Lovely People, Lovely Service Everyone at the office was so friendly, courteous, and professional! I loved how accommodating they were and also appreciated the selection of glasses on display. They are also taking COVID precautions very seriously, which put me at ease.

I recently went to STL Optometry for new contact lens' prescription and I had a good experience! I made an appointment two weeks in advance with Dr. Wang. She was really friendly and led me through all the vision tests quickly and professionally. I appreciated that the equipment was new and updated. I went in specifically for contacts, but came out with a new pair of glasses as well. It was helpful that Samantha reviewed my insurance coverage with me before my appointment so I was aware of what I was covered for. I tried on a few pairs and loved the 141 brand for the lightness of the frame and ended up splurging for my eye health. Overall, great experience and would come back again!

The lovely Dr. Zhaum has retired since April 2024. We will miss her. The same wonderful faces we saw in the front office are still there. The new Dr's seem nice. We hope to have as seamless a transition as possible with the new Dr's.

I cannot recommend STL Optometry enough! I've had the pleasure of having vision exams with both Dr. Kao and Dr. Schwalbe, and both experiences were fantastic. They are incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and take the time to explain everything in a way that's easy to understand. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming, making each visit a breeze. If you're looking for top-notch eye care, this is the place to go!
