Luu Optometry

I recently visited Luu Optometry with my wife and two daughters, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The service was friendly, honest, and truly top-class. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly attentive and made sure that all of our questions and concerns were addressed thoroughly. Dr. Luu and his team demonstrated a high level of professionalism and expertise, ensuring that our eye exams were comprehensive and tailored to our individual needs. They took the time to explain everything in detail, making us feel comfortable and confident in their care. Overall, our experience at Luu Optometry was outstanding, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of excellent eye care. We will definitely be returning for all our future optometry needs!

5/2023-Another efficient, thorough and professional eye exam from Dr. Luu. Initial eye exams from the machines are mostly automated and efficient. She's very caring and experienced. Doesn't accept vision insurance though. Highly recommended. 10/2021-The staff are much more experienced and professional. Dr. Mai is super professional and friendly. She answered all my questions and thoroughly explained all her tests and procedures; 2018-I was seen by both doctors and they were both friendly, professional and competent as expected. Their front office help could be a little bit more so.

It had been a few years since my last appointment and I was fortunate to obtain a walk-in appointment for that day. I was treated well by all the staff who were openly friendly and caring during my visit, it really made me feel welcomed and appreciated for my business. They did an extensive series of tests with all the latest tech including back of retina photos, along with the usual eye chart and mechanical 20/20 tests by the lovely and talented Jacqueline Mai, OD. She took her time, had a pleasant demeanor, so patient and informative. As it were, my prescription hasn't changed enough to warrant new glasses, though if I did, Costco has an on-site ordering desk next to the eye doctor (FYI this is a separate and unrelated business. Costco doesn't make glasses onsite and usual turn around is 1 to 2 weeks depending how busy the 3rd party lab is.) As it's a medical office, Covid restrictions are still in place in the optical area. They provided a mask for me as I had left mine in the car, and they sanitized surfaces between patients. You are no longer required a mask to shop around the main store. Such a delightful experience, it's hard to imagine these older 1 star reviews had actually been there. Perhaps just unhappy people or grave misunderstanding? I would definitely return here and highly recommend it to others.

I was dissatisfied with the paperwork related to an initial appointment which I'd had with the OTHER optometrist--not Dr. Luu. I called and left that message. I was called right back. Although she was fully booked, Dr. Luu called me in immediately. I explained the situation (which was complex). She was friendly, efficient, professional, and she resolved the issue by examining me again. She was wonderful. I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome.

My wife has been a patient of Costco for a long time. She has seen different ophthalmologist in the past, but non as rude and as careless as Dr. Luu. She was out of contact lenses and had to leave for an emergency trip. So She called Dr. Luu's office to get an emergency pair of contact lenses to use on the trip. Dr. Luu did not show any sympathy and did not give her the correct contact lenses. Coming back form the trip my wife called to make an appointment to see Dr. Luu to make sure she gets the right contacts. Again Dr. Luu did not have an appointment available to give her on that day. But Dr. Luu told my wife to stop by and pick up the contact lenses. Of course, Prescriptions was never ready for contact lenses to be picked up. She complained to Dr. Luu. And instead of taking are of her Dr. Luu screamed "SHUT UP" to my wife in front of all the patients and other Costco customers. This was so horrendous that all the Costco managers showed up to apologize for Dr. Luu rude behavior to my wife. Dr. Luu still has not apologized for her extreme rude behavior to my wife. I dont want any one to go through what my wife went through. So, I will not recommend her.

Doctor is very rude. And from the very start insisted on a comprehensive eye exam that costed much more. When I refused she become really annoyed. On top of that, she gave a wrong eye prescription (much higher than actual) that I came to know a few months later. Legal action should be taken against such practitioners

unfriendly to children. my child cried a bit due the puffing in the machine, and they can wait for five minutes for her to settle. they kept on rushing her to move on.

I have been seeing Dr Luu for many years. She is honest, thorough and her equipment is of the newest technology. I was surprised to read some bad reviews, as I have only had good experiences with her and her staff. I totally recommend Dr. Luu!
