My disabled father was 20min late for his glaucoma appointment for unavoidable reasons due to his mobility issues. We worked so hard to get him to his appointment and even paid a caregiver to come with us. The receptionist turned us away very coldly saying it was their policy and would not make any accommodations. *NO ONE MENTIONED THE POLICY* Additionally we have waited over an hour for appointments in their waiting room before without complaint. If the Drs were not so good we would never return. My mother was absolutely devastated and pushed to her last nerve by this lack of empathy. It's not ok to treat disabled people like this and it is actually against federal and state law not to be flexible when the late arrival is due to disability. Please change your policy to allow for proper accommodations to the disabled and train your staff on this. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): The ADA requires healthcare providers to offer "reasonable modifications" to policies and practices to avoid discrimination. The California Unruh Civil Rights Act: This state law explicitly protects people with disabilities from discrimination and makes it illegal to violate the ADA.

I am amazed at each visit; Dr Najafi is a consummate professional, she demonstrates a complete grasp of my issues and the solutions she's giving me - and even more impressive is the support staff; from Nolene and all the high level assistants and techs to the folks at the desk and on the phone, everyone is focused, sharp, professional ... and nice. I am a fortunate recipient of the care I am receiving by Dr. Kathryn Najafi-Tagol & Dr. Michael Hemond, and their extremely capable staff. Both my husband and I have undergone cataract surgery with amazing results. I have not seen this well since birth. Under their care, I am surviving glaucoma as well with no visual impairments I notice. Their new facility is beautiful with private offstreet parking. There is nothing more I could ask for.

I recently had an eye infection over the weekend and called Eye Institute of Marin, worried that no one would answer. Thankfully, they had an on-call doctor that responded and diagnosed the problem from a picture I sent in. Dr. Najafi called in a prescription eyedrop which quickly resolved my infection. She was so kind and attentive and I highly recommend them
